How much money is in "It's a small world"?

I noticed something that caught my eye on my last trip to WDW. In the queue for "It's a small world" there was at least 1,000 dollars worth of quarters in the water. Has anyone else seen this before? Does anyone have a definite amount that is in the water?

Edit: Would Disney yell at me if I brought a hand-held net into the ride? :p

CM told me that some of the coins corrode from sitting in the water long term and cannot be turned in as currency. That a small percentage of that gets sold as scrap metals. Too bad the charities lose out on that extra $$$.

If they collected the money more often it would not corrode that badly.

I take a few from the fountains every time I visit. Remember "The Goonies"? "This is my dream, this is my wish, and I am taking them back...I am taking them all back" With the way Disney is going, I feel that way at times.....and before you get everything in a bunch, I really don't take anything from the fountains. I am sure most of you feel the same though.
