How much longer does the Electrical Parade have?

Well...I visit about once every three years... and everytime I stand with my children with a stupid grin staring, pointng, ohhing andahhing at each and every float, character, etc. And usually take 100 pictures on the same stuff everytime!

Hasnt gotten "old" or "dated" to me AT ALL!

If you get to go several times year and you dont care for the parades or nightime shows, why the heck do you bother watching them?

So you can have something ELSE to come on here and complain about?

Does the word "forever" come to mind? Maybe WDW will run MSEP into the ground more than MSEP, as currently abbreviated, has done to itself. Didn't MSEP premiere at the worlds fair with COP? More than a few have likened it to COP on wheels (wheelchair, ECV). Until they have a suitable replacement, let it run. Probably saves some money to keep this elderly parade in rotation rather than spend on new floats, music, and training. At least it looks that way.

We're going with the HS Marching band during Spring Break. I wonder how many of those kids have no idea who Elliot is. Our kids, of course, do and love the movie, but I am pretty sure they are in the minority.
You are mostly right lol. But it is a classic! Heard they are coming out with a remake of Pete's Dragon so that might help.

It's slowly growing on me, I have to admit. But Spectro was way better IMO. I honestly think it depends on which one you grew up with, though. And I highly doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon. We saw the floats backstage on the KttK tour last May and (I'm by no means a parade float expert), but they definitely didn't look as bad as the traffic cones/candy corn floats. Maybe a new nighttime parade for the 45th?

What we often forget on these boards is most people over analyse everything to do with WDW and when you've seen a parade/show/attraction 30 times in 20 years for example it's easy to say it's lost its appeal and that its run down compared to its 'glory days' . I think there is truth in some of it but other stuff is people just expecting too much...
Your average guest who doesn't spend their life visiting and reading stuff on here :cautious:  :joyfull: sees parades like this and is in awe as it's very different to anywhere else I know of on the planet...

I can't wait to see the parade again in October and I'm even more excited to see my 4 year olds reaction who isn't going to complain about a couple of bulbs out or the sound quality!

Contrary to popular belief, the WDW team takes great care of MSEP and pretty much has a rolling refurbishment going on for it. When a parade float is out, it's being worked on and refreshed.

Could Not have said it any better. First time guest and guest who will save a lifetime to visit WDW resort make up nearly 80% of the total guest who visit the parks today. I despise the amount of over analyzing. Sure quality could improve but that doesn't matter to the countless people who visit the worlds most visited resort. Thank you.

I love the MSEP! However, I never saw spectromagic and after watching a video on youtube, I have to say I think it has a much better soundtrack than MSEP, maybe they could just update the MSEP soundtrack and then it would be even more awesome!

It's grown allot on me to, If they added a calvicade like Tokyo's with the same music and had that whole transition to slower music I would be sold. Heck with different units they could add a clavicade like spectromagics with the same units. What I do like more about the Electrical Parade is that the base of he parade has units based on the classics and is pretty muck like a giant Spectromagic clavicade. The beginning and finalie can really use some help and there's no reason disney world couldn't bring out Chernobog. They could have used the actual song and made a version to go along with the underliner to.

Bite your tongue!

To me, Baroque Hoedown is as integral a part of "Disney Park" as the songs from POTC, HM and IASW. I wouldn't mind if they ever got rid of MSEP, but I would hope that any replacement uses Baroque Hoedown.

I have always loved MSEP, even though I have been there twice!

It is part of nostalgia for me, and I personally hope they keep it, only updating the floats!

I know there may be a day where they will get rid of it, but hopefully that is a long time down the road!

It is old though. it's not really a subjective thing. It is objectively OLD.

People complain because WDW has only had 2 night parades in 40+ years. Not a great turnover rate.

80% of guests are first time visitors? Really?

I honestly think when the time is right a Spectromagic inspired parade with Paint the Night technology is going to come out way, as for Disneyland... I really think their Paint the Night is going to have a very similar lineup to MSEP, I predict there going to keep those diehard MSEP fans in mind. I have no source of info on this but I have a feeling that the Blue Fairy is going to lead the parade. Disneyland is a real local getaway, there's going to be some accommodating.

I'm a huge MSEP fan, I cant imagine the nighttime coming without hearing that great soundtrack... I agree that Spectro was great, but for me, as soon as that MSEP music starts playing, I immediately feel like I'm watching it as a kid again.
