As some already know, me and the wife are planning to spend a couple extra days, after the family leaves, at the World and of course we're going to Epcot one of those days.

Since, we've never really been able to 'soak everything' in at WS because we've always had our kids with us; we want to know how much time you can actually spend in each pavilion?
What are some things that you've done or seen in the pavilions that maybe a lot of people haven't done?

I enjoy watching the street performers (what's left of them).
Sergio in Italy, Miyuki in Japan, Server De Amusement in France, Voices of Liberty in America.

You could easily spend an entire day just in the world showcase.

Lunch and dinner, films, shopping, shows, rides, galleries and museums.

The galleries and exhibits are a lot of fun. We also enjoy taking lots of pictures, exploring the nooks and cranies, admiring the architecture and the landscaping...and of course, sampling a drink and some food from each location.

The Hidden Mickey Book can also add about an hour or two to you visit to the World Showcase if you're interested in that kind of thing. You don't need to have kids to enjoy the scavenger hunt!

Yes! We've known about a lot of the street performers and little things, but never really got to actually enjoy them. We can't wait to be able to stroll through WS instead of the usual -'lets go here daddy!, c'mon hurry!' :ROFLOL:

Thanks for all your input! Please keep it coming!

well said. WS is the best part of EPCOT. I think me and my mom honestly spend more time in WS than in Future World. I just love all the details and the food is amazing in the different countries!

I'm another one who agrees with this. We can easily spend a full day or more just walking around WS. When are your dates? If your going to be around in October or the first half of November you'll also have the F&W festivle going on which can add another day or more in itself (we are checking out our first F&W this October). Besides the rides, performers, museums, gallaries, shows (the drummers in Japan and Off-Kilter are awesome, we haven't seen the new band in UK yet). You can really take your time exploring each pavillion and if you can budget it you can have a snack and drink at eat stop for a little international flavor. :D

Yeas, we love the F&W festival! We're going to just miss it this time around

Although, we know we'll still enjoy ourselves just us two in WS. :D

Even though we've been a thousand times to WS, we hope we can find things we've never experienced before.

Awesome! WS with no kids, we did that two years ago on our adults only trip. WS is a totally different experience without kids, take your time and enjoy. I personally could spend all day in Morocco, love it there. Make sure you catch OFF KILTER in Canada, great show.

I am usually there with other adults, and it's leisurely pleasures that make the WS so amazing.
Just take your time. Slow down your pace...and enjoy!

We always like...lingering over dinner, trying on robes on Morocco, people watching in Mexico, troll spotting in Norway, the museum gallery and shops in China, the music in Canada and the UK...

There is so much more...and you will discover it if you aren't rushed to get to the next ride.

My wife and I tried the "wine tour" and really enjoyed it. The 3 countries that participate are Germany, Italy and France. You are given a card at whichever pavillion you choose to start at and then 2 samples from each country. The samples aren't large by any means but it was fun comparing the wines and reading the descriptions provided on the card. We expected to like France's offerings the best but both preferred the German wines.

Nice! Never done the wine tour. Is that extra?

I think it was $20 each at the time (July '09). That got us 6 samples each at about 2-3 ounzes a sample. The German samples were definitely more generous and more like half a glass of wine each. Maybe that's why we liked them best.

My favorite to do at WS is to stare at the hideous Soarin' show building, the Swan and Dolphin and wonder why these have to intrude on the view, heh heh....

Now that's something I didn't know about...anyone know if this is still offered? Its a great idea if it still is.

To the OP, one can easily take up the entire day wandering around and through World Showcase. Each pavilion has something unique to offer: boat rides in Mexico and Norway; theater shows in China, the American Adventure, France, and Canada; galleries, museums, and display areas in Norway, China, the American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, and France; live performers in Mexico, Germany, Italy, the American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada; restaurants (table service and some counter service) in each pavilion.

But even aside from these things, wander into the stores and browse and try things on; watch or take part in a live demonstration, like the ring carver and jewelry making in Mexico, the pearl selection in Japan, or the Art of Henna in Morocco; engage with cast members from each nation - more times than not they're eager to have a conversation and learn from you and you from them.

Last but not least, don't be afraid to just slow down and sit. Take in the sounds and scenery, people watch, sip on a drink and look out across the lagoon. Take the time to enjoy World Showcase and you'll appreciate it that much more. :)

I've been to WDW so much over the past 5 years as a passholder that I can honestly say that sitting is one of my favorite things to do in the parks anymore. Just sitting and watching and enjoying. During F&W in October time frame it is absolutely beautiful to be outside sipping some import and just relaxing.
