I think its usually between 10%-15% depending on the type of resort. The percentage is higher for values and moderates than for deluxe. Depending on the time of year you go sometimes Disney offers better deals than AAA discount. :)

I just want to add that if you're getting AAA only for the WDW Discounts, then it's not worth it. But if you plan on using all the benefits, then definitely go for it, and make sure you get the Plus Membership. It's worth every penny.

Thats true. We have used their roadside assistance and also used them to get discounted tickets to Busch Gardens.

Not a lot. I just booked a few nights each at WL and BWI for October with AAA (until AP rates come out) and basically, my savings amounted to...I'm paying rack rate with no tax. So the savings equal whatever the tax was. Not exactly great, but better than nothing until AP rates come out (which hopefully they will!)

Unless you have access to another type of discount (AP, etc.), I think AAA is about the best deal you can get. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. You get 15% off the room rate for value and moderate resorts (20% during value season). If you're a AAA member, you get that discount whether you book through them or a travel agent. However, if you book through AAA, they will give you that room discount as part of a MYW package. So if you wanted to take advantage of the dining plan, you can still get the AAA discount on the room. If you book a MYW package through a travel agent, you lose the ability to use the AAA room discount. On a MYW package, you're going to save by going with AAA versus booking with Disney or a travel agency.

I think it is worth getting the AAA membership just to save on a WDW vacation. Depending on the length of your trip, you can easily save much more than the cost of your membership and still end up with all of the other AAA member benefits.

if we use a florida resident rate for the room, can we use a AAA to get our tickets? we want the 7 day hopper with the water park & fun option. is there somewhere that has better ticket discounts?

I was told when I booked the room through Disney that AAA does give discounts on park tickets but you have to buy them through AAA. I haven't checked it out through AAA yet.

Hi Tracy, I believe ou can however Florida residents have some great discounts on tickets to the parks through Disney itself! Including almost a $100.00 discount on the Annual Pass!!! Let me know if you need more information on this!! Belle

I can assure you we saved a good amount compared to the cost Disney is asking. We have more than 5 in one party. That was a saving of over $200 going with AAA.

We used the AAA discount on our last trip in Oct 05. There were no other discounts available at the the time we traveled. So AAA was it. We saved about 10% of the whole package (room and tics). But I had to join AAA to gt it. But even with that cost, we still saved over $150, so it was worth it in the end, and now I have AAA to this year to help with our trip to Italy we are planning.

If there are no other discounts available, go ahead and save what you can with AAA.

I booked by March trip with AAA and saved $120 on my room/ticket package. What I have learned over the past years is AAA has a certain number of rooms at each Disney resort that the discount can be applied to. Once those are full (peak season) the discount can not be applied. Just make sure to book early for the holiday/spring breaks and you will not have a problem.

FL Residents have three AP options. All are much better deals then MYW tickets because the cost-per-day can be next to nothing if you use them enough.

Florida Resident Seasonal Passes ($215) - they're about 9 months of unlimited visits. Blackout dates are 2 weeks at xmas/new year, 2-3 weeks at spring break and most of the summer. (Though they normall open the summer up early every year.) They do not include free parking. AAA sells them for around $209 I believe but you have to do it through them.

Florida Resident Annual Pass ($325) - Unlimited, 365 a year. Including free parking. No blackout dates at all.

But if you want everything, your best bet is....

FL Resident Premium Annual Pass ($429) -
A Florida Resident Premium Annual Pass entitles you to:
  • Unlimited admission** for 365 days to the four Disney Theme Parks; Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park
  • A year's worth of unlimited access to: Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island; Disney's Water Parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon; Disney's Wide World of Sports® complex (days of operation depend on event schedule); and DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park
All forms of FL Resident AP include special discounts and promotions that vary throught the year. And all AP's are park hopper.
