We will be on the DDP and already paid for PPP and MVMCP, so much do we bring for extras? Me, DW, DD10 and DD8, first trip and we have no idea what to bring? $1000? $2000?? Any help would be great!

We need time for things to happen.
Bring every cent you're willing to spend Mickey wants it all!

In all seriousness - It totally depends on what you're willing to spend. Is this a once in a lifetime trip? Or do you plan on visiting every year?
We're a four-pack ourselves and we go every year. We've brought as much as 2000 in spending money and as little as 600.
All based on our budget.

If you guys are big shoppers, t-shirts, pins, hats, and trinkets you could go through quite a bit of coin pretty quickly.

Either way if you're asking that means you've got the coin --- So my advice?
Take your 2 Gs with you and have a GREAT time!

That is great advice. We plan to make it a yearly trip with an occasional Disney cruise. If Obomacare doesn't ruin my wifes career we will do this every year!:)

You will need money for tips for dining, alcoholic beverages and mousekeeping. After that is basically what you would like to spend on souvenirs. Have a great time!

bring a credit card - there is little need for cash on your trip except for tipping hotel staff, etc.
+1

I'll typically bring around $200 for a 5-7 day trip to cover random gratuities and the odd cash only expense, i.e. change for laundry or taxi fare. Otherwise, I'm using my Disney visa to buildup more points for the next trip. The caveat is obviously know your limits and budget what you can spend before your trip.

I'm another one who rarely brings cash. i.e. a little here and there for tips that would have to be paid in cash -valet, bell services, etc. and that's it. Everything else can be accomplished with plastic.

We aren't big souvenir shoppers so we usually bring around $400 to $500 for a 6 day trip. That easily covers our tips (usually around $200 to $250), any food not covered by the DDP (usually only about $25), one or two special experiences, and the handful of souvenirs we buy (usually around a$100). We don't drink alcohol so that might be why our budget is a little lower than others also.

This year we decided to leave our British money that we had saved ( approx £1.500 ) in our bank, and use the KTTWC then swipe the final spending bill with our 0% visa card. Not only was the exchange rate much better but our bill only came to $1.200 which was a lot less than we expected. That was for souvenirs not food.:)

We take approximately $900 per person for the 10 days there. Our money typically breaks down like this:

$900 each person for souvenirs
$1000 total for extra stuff (food not covered on DDP, tips, 1 t-shirt for each of us, photo book, photo frame, 8x10 photo, etc...)
$150 gas money for rental vehicle
$500 "Oh (crap)" money (for emergencies that pop up last minute after all spending money is gone)

I then take $750 of our personal spending money and all of the other money (except tip money) and put it on customizable gift cards that can be used anywhere VISA can. It is far easier for the kids to use than trusting them with cash. http://www.giftcards.com I usually take a photo from a previous trip and use it for the cards photos. Something that shows what the card is for like a photo of us eating on the "extra food" card, a photo of a Hess station on the gas card, etc... And then I can add a line on the card for what it is to be used for.

The only cash you need is for tips, and a few of the vendors that may not have swipe terminals. (I don't think the balloon vendors do for instance) Beyond that however, check out the Disney Parks/Disney Store section at disneyparks.com/store That will give you an idea of the costs of souvenirs on property. Since you already paid for the DDP and the MVMCP, those are the big expenditures. However, keep in mind that depending on the DDP you signed up for, you may only have 2 meals included, and will most likely still need to tip. So unless you pack food/have groceries delivered for the third meal, you would need to pay OOP for one meal a day. Tips can just be charged to the room using your KTTW.

We're bringing $10,000 total, but that includes Disney, Universal and shopping for 22 days. I'll buy me a new iPhone and an iPad so that will bring the money down a bit.

BTW, don't bring more than $200 cash for each day of your trip. Almost everything can be paid with a credit card, so don't carry too much cash with you.
