How Many Times Do You Visit WDW In A Year?

Hi!

So...I visited WDW on December and am now planning to go back in June. I have to fly there since I don't live near. Apparently my friends and family think this is a waste of money and that it is definitely not normal for me to want to visit THAT often. I just don't see anything wrong with it. I do talk about it a lot, but it is my favorite thing to plan for. Also, my daughter and me enjoy it so much, that I value this more than anything. They save to buy cars, clothes and electronics...I have what I need and I save money to go to WDW. Opinions? Thanks :)

Thank you guys! :inlove: I am a single mother to my daughter and she has everything she needs, all bills are paid, and I have what I need. I do not need much, and this seems to baffle them. I do save money all year long to visit Orlando and specially WDW. As irishmom58 said, I think that making memories is way more important than anything. They've told me I must be rich, but that is just not true. I am actually a teacher, but I am very good at budgeting. My daughter and me have such fun that it is all worth it. Thank you all .

I was a single mom from the time I was 17 up until August when I got married at 32. I took my daughter alll the time and it was great just the 2 of us! ENJOY EVERY SECOND OF YOUR TRIP...Disney was ''our'' thing and it was and is very special to us!

Exactly! "our" thing! :inlove: I love the memories and the overall feeling of being able to be there and share such a special experience with my DD. And she is always so thankful! My family members implied that she would not realize the value of these trips if I took her constantly but this hasn't happened. She is not spoiled, this is about experiencing something special and valuing our time together.:)

I must add, she is so in love with the WDW experience, she almost never asks me to buy anything, I almost have to push her to get things because all she wants to do is go on rides and see the shows! :joyfull: Getting her to sit down for a meal is hard too after she's inside the parks! :D

Decisions regarding discretionary spending should always remain within the hearts and hands of the individuals holding the funds. Recreational delights should always remain within the hearts of those who seek to enjoy their free time. If moral or spiritual principles are being honored, it is not the concern or right of others to intervene. Unsolicited advice is not unlike a bad haircut; give it enough time with a degree of disregard, and it will eventually go away.

A bit off topic but...can you guys tell me which is the best car rental company in Orlando? I'm considering getting a car rental too this time to visit family who live in Florida.

We went 2 times in 2012. 2 times in 2013. 2 times 2014. But looks like it might be zero in 2015. But for sure once in 2016 hopefully 2 times.

I am a single mom and I took my daughter for the first time in 2014. We are going again in 18 days. So, I guess my answer to your question is once a year. However, I don't know if we will be able to go back in 2016 financially. 2017 is a sure thing because we plan on celebrating her 8th grade graduation at WDW!

I used to go once a year for 9 days. I had the premier pass, and all of a sudden, different groups of friends asked me to go on their trips with them. I spent 28 days in WDW on my annual pass. Sept 2013, Dec 2013, Feb 2014, May 2014, August 2014. It was awesome, but my non-Disney friends gave me a hard time about it.

Uh, it's YOUR money to spend as you see fit, as long as you are covering the essentials - rent/mortgage, utilities, food, clothing, etc. - and not living on credit or borrowing from those relatives. We are Florida APs and go every 2-3 months since we live a 4 hour drive away. I think the most visits in one year was 7 - a full week each in the Spring and Fall and every long holiday weekend. Last year we did Thanksgiving. And since I occasionally experience bouts of temporary insanity, I really want to go the week between Christmas and New Year's. Just once. Right now I have 3 upcoming resort reservations in my MDE account and a DVC member cruise in August. Still need something for late fall. Maybe that Christmas to New Year's trip? lol

And next year is the biggie - my daughter's wedding at Disney. Which is the week after the Princess Half Marathon weekend. So that will be my longest trip - nearly 2 weeks - since I'm not driving back home to turn around the next day to drive back for the wedding.

Agreed! Why would anyone care how someone else spends their money?

Unfortunately I am only able to go once a year due to my job(s). This year we decided to take the year off to allow some of the construction walls to come down next January hopefully but that is beyond the point. Who cares what anyone thinks, it's something you enjoy doing and going to. I've yet to stop thinking/talking about Disney and my family and friends know how much I do love it there. Some understand my love for DW, some don't and it does not affect me at all and it's my choice to go every year when I can.

It's your money you do what you want to do with it, It's your time its your life your decisions. That's what I tell myself when I start to countdown those days and begin to plan/book. I say go on www.disneyworld.com and book that June trip! (or go where ever you book your vacations ;))

Go as often as you want or can afford. Don't worry about what others think. We used to go once, maybe twice a year. As costs went up the dropped to once a year, then once every 18 months, then once every two years. We would certainly go more often if possible.

The bottom line is...YOU save for it... YOU plan for it... YOU get enjoyment out of going. Dont let others make you think a second that youre doing something foolish. Weve gone once or twice a year when we could. If I could go every day I would.
