I would book two adjoining rooms and stay four and four. Now, your daughter and her husband, are the additional children theirs? If so, I would put the boy (15) in with you , your wife and your son and have the others stay in the other room. You could even leave the door open to the rooms, if everybody would be more comfortable that way. Have a great trip!

First of all, welcome to the boards. Good to have another Disney fan here. Anyways, I am not sure when you plan on taking your trip. There are obviously a lot a great resorts to choose from. I have never stayed at the Pop Century, but have stayed at the All Star Sports. For some reason, I really didn't like staying there, b/c I always felt like I was walking or the buses were to crowded. I don't know, maybe it also had to do with us being there during spring break.

The timing is very important. We will be at WDW in October and will be staying at the AKL (savannah view). We got a great discounted rate ($183/night) during our stay. I also found some great rates for the Fort Wilderness Cabins.

I would call WDW reservations to check availability and rates during the time of your visit. You will need 2 rooms regardless, unless you opt for a suite or villa. The moderate resorts are also an excellent option (Coronado Springs, Port Orleans, Caribbean Beach, etc).

Staying on the property is the way to go. So you really can't go wrong with any of the resorts. :)

Have a great trip and I hope my rambling had a little value for you.

37 days to our trip :sohappy: :sohappy:

Hey there Welcome to the Boards. Pop Century is in the Value class of hotels which means it is the smallest in terms of Room size. Pop rooms are 260 square feet each, which isnt very big at all for 4 grownups in the same room. For more information on Pop Century check out the following link
http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_pop.htm
At our friend Deb Wills Website, www.AllEarsnet.com
There are fact sheets for each and every resort on Disney property. As I Am not sure what price range you are looking at or what type of accomodations you would need This may give you a good place to starty looking. Any other questions after you read over the info ( Check out the pictures as well!!!) please post and Ill try to answer them!! Belle

If you are paying for the whole trip....wow very nice parents!!!! If not, it's still cool that you are spending time as family.

I agree with wannabe that pop/all stars would be a bit crowded if you were to have 4 per room. 3 rooms would probably be better. However, you may want to check out a Vacation Club resort. They have 2 bedroom suites that sleep up to 8. OKW has the largest suites. I did a quick check--during value season a 2 bedroom at OKW including tickets would be about 7K.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I agree with Jordanyosh in that those rooms are small and you would be much more comfy in a villa of some sort. If you decide to go with a value resort, I'd get at least 3 rooms. That way, at least you have 3 bathrooms!!! And believe me, with two girls ages 12 and 16, you will need them! The beds are small, too. Only full size. I would definitely try to get a 2br villa at Old Key West. They are by far the cheapest (in price only....they are very nice) and are a very good size. You would have a master br with its own bath and huge bathtub and separate shower, another bedroom with 2 queen beds and a bathroom, and a pull out sofa in the living room. Plus you get a full kitchen, living room, balcony and a washer and dryer.

Old Key West is one of Disney's DVC resorts and as such is able to take advantage of the transport and the Early entry. Belle

Alright, I am going to "spit into the wind" here and disagree with all the above posts ;)
We stayed at Pop in June with 12 people, 6 adults, 1 teen and 5 children, 3 rooms, 11 days no problems. Buses were not overly crowded, didn't wait for long for the buses and the rooms were decent for what we needed them for..naps for babies, sleeping and showering for all others.
So what you really need to decide is "how much is that room really worth to me?" if you will only be sleeping and showering then i'd go for pop or any of the other all stars, (we've stayed at all of them,) in a heartbeat. Great prices, great service, Disney transportation, package pickup and cute themes. Either way, remember to relax, have fun, get a family photo and take loads of photos!

The most economical choice (and it does matter to some of us!) would be 2 rooms at a value resort. However, I think you would be much more comfortable in 3 rooms.

Depending upon the season, they would be $77 to $114 without any discount.

In stark contrast, a 2 bedroom villa would be $490 to $805

a grand villa $1070 to $1505.

3 rooms at $77 = $231 per night at a value--that's $260 per night less than a DVC property.

How many rooms

I don't think that we can get enough information to properly give you advice. There is a lot to be said for both the Value-Moderate and the DVC- Home Away from Home resorts. My recommendation is to contact Pam from Kingdom Konsultants, she can get more details and probably give you solid advice.
Good Luck and enjoy your trip,

If you can afford it I would get three rooms. The extra bathrooms will be much appreciated when everyone is trying to get ready. The value resort rooms are pretty small and the extra space will be much more comfortable. I've stayed at the All Star Music with one other person and I found the room to be cramped. I can't image 4 people feeling comfortable in one.
