I've been on four visits to WDW and I've only started buying pins on my last three. Now I have 27 Disney trading pins. Is this normal for 3 pin-buying visits or do I seriously have to re-evaluate my obsession with WDW? (Borrowing someone's sig for a sec)

I have bought a few new pins each time I go. The main ones being ones that have the year on them. Since I can only go once a year I like these alot and will not trade them. I would say I have about 12 and my daughter has about 15 maybe. If I had more money I would prob buy more but they are $$$expensive.

We just got into pin trading on our most recent trip in February. First my sister wanted to get a few pins...then I did...then my other sister...then my husband. Finally my mom gave in and we were all walking around with 10 pins each and attacking every cast member we came across to see what pins they had to trade. :ROFLOL:

DH and I are going again in December. At first I was going to take my original lanyard and the pins I wanted to trade. Now I've decided that I need a new lanyard and new pins to document each trip. I've recently bought a few pins on ebay to trade, and I'll buy some special ones to document the trip when I get there. It's fun!

I don't know about any of you, but I don't generally buy pins with characters on 'em. I don't know why, just don't.

I was looking for a BTMR or Splash Mountain pin without Mickey and the gang, but no luck. o_o

I have thirteen pins at the present moment, and while that falls under 'enough to keep me happy' at the present moment, I have a feeling this next trip is going to be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back, and I'm going to fall into the pin obsession and become horribly addicted. Oh well, at least it's not crack.

I have about 100 or so. I only buy the one's I like or that have some sentimental value to me.

Or one's that are worth something, of course.

I voted WAAAAY too many myself. According to my pinpics account I have about 4300 in my collection. I would guess I have somewhere in the 1000 category of traders and maybe 600-700 more that I use as lanyard traders while in the park. If anyone is interested in taking a look at my collection, my userid is cincypintrader.

My kids each have about 50-100 pins, many of them are ones that are "special promo" pins. My mom and step-dad live in Fla and are Annual pass holders and they also belong to something else(I have no idea what it is called) so they get offers for limited edition pins, which they buy and give to my kids. Grandparents are great!:D They are the ones who started my kids on the whole pin thing!

I have between 20 & 30. They have to be theme park related for me!! (Not just characters).

I don't trade, I just get the ones I love, and I just get about 5 or 6 every trip we go. (we go every year) I started about 4 or 5 years ago.

Also, I always have to get one that has the theme of the year on it. (Can't wait to get an Epcot 25th pin this December!!!)

I have about 15 - some I keep at home, some are on display at work. I'm not much of a collector; I just like these particular pins. My sons have about 10 each on their lanyards. We recently bought 25 pins on eBay, and we've been rewarding the boys for doing their weekly chores with a pin each week in preparation for the trip. They really enjoyed trading pins last year, and I wanted to make sure they had a healthy supply of traders for this year.

I made sure to buy pins from a seller who advertised authentic Disney copyrighted pins ("No Sedesma! No ProPins!"). They seem like good quality pins and many of them say "Cast Lanyard Series" on the back. What does that mean?

I have approximately 3000+ pins! I love collecting them, mostly The Little mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, POTC, Pooh, and Park attraction and history ones. But I really have pins that cover the gamut. I have a very good collection of LE's and hard to find pins. I have not traded much, surprisingly. I buy most of mine either at the Parks when we are there or on eBay for the older retired ones. I have a lot of duplicates which I hope to take to the Parks and trade. I am disabled and do not go out much, but my pin hobby keeps me very happy and busy! I LOVE Disney pins! I would like to try trading sometime.
I also collect pins from other subjects as well, LoonyToons, The Beatles and Fantasy pins. I do collect other Disney memorabilia too, but my pin collection is by far the largest collection I own of anything.
