Just know that the water at Castaway Cay will be cold this time of year. Shocking, I know.

Wonderful that you were able to rebook your cruise. You'll have such a great time. I love the Dream. Beautiful ship.
Thank you, I have heard that about Castaway. We’re from Massachusetts so hoping it’s not too bad 😁

We're in MA, too. (Near Springfield) I typically don't go in the water when we visit CC in January or February, but my wife and daughter do. They don't mind it too much, but definitely too chilly for me.
Us too. We went in Feb a couple years ago. The kids didn’t mind the chill, but I didn’t go in the water.

You'll be fine. The themed cruises are so fun!

Make sure grandparents have the 800 number to contact DCL, along with your reservation and stateroom numbers.
Where do I find the 800 number to contact DCL? We're taking the grandkids on a cruise in Sept and their mom would like a number to call incase of emergency.

Just booked our first ever DCL cruise (we have cruised other lines in the past). We depart in 238 days on the Disney Wish, the 4-night Halloween cruise from Port Canaveral. We will have our two grandkids with us (first cruise for them). We are huge Disney fans (grew up in SoCal with lots of Disneyland trips, former APers at WDW) and are so looking forward to this special time with just the grands and us.

Any tips for newbie DCL cruisers, especially traveling with grandkids?

It's 1-888-322-8732. They'll need the cruise ship name and your stateroom number if they need to contact you while on board.

You can also purchase the premium Internet package while on board; that allows you to send emails.

Make reservations for the kids' clubs as soon as your booking window for activities opens. Also for character meet and greets and any port adventures. You can purchase a photo package, which I think is cheaper to do so before boarding.

Make sure you've got the necessary paperwork for your grandkids and not just their passports. Their parents will need to fill out the Authorization for Minor to Travel Without Parent form for each child. You'll have to show that when boarding and each time you leave the ship in port. Here's the link:

Make sure to download the DCL Navigator map BEFORE your cruise. Everything is now handled by the app.
