Just curious......

How long did everybody wait in line to vote?

We got to our lovation around 6:15 and waited a total of an hour. But we've heard reports of 5-7 hour waits for early voting in central Florida!!!!!

By the time we left (7:30) the line was wrapped all the way around the school and a second line had formed: the line to get in line to vote!

I showed up at 7:30 and walked right through, no waiting. I was number 268 and I was actually on time to work this morning.

It seemed here that if you tried to go during a break from work, you were going to have a LONG wait. I'm a teacher and did not want to chance not getting back to my class on time, so I went after work (about 5:30) NO wait at all!!! I was shocked.

I waited half hour, but by the time I got out the line wrapped around the building. I don't know if this was offered just in my area, but if you show up to a Krispi Kreme with your "I voted" sticker, you get a free doughnut.

I only waited about 30 minutes. I had never voted before until today. I had always thought that my one vote didn't really matter. I only registered to vote when I renewed my driver's license. I had the intention of not voting at all. When I got to work this morning some people asked me if had voted and I told them no and they wanted to know why so I told them. One person who I work with had a long discussion with me and let me tell you she said things that I had not thought about. So I left work and went to vote for the very first time in my life and I am glad that I did.

I went to vote at like 5:15 and there was practically no wait. There were maybe 3 or 4 people ahead of me (and my mom was one of them). We waited until my mom got off work and all went together, just in case parking was bad, and were surprised at how quickly we got in. But, she did leave early, so people may not have been off work yet. And the people at the booth said there were over 200 people in line at 6:00 in the morning, so I think going late was the best thing to do.

I went at 5:30 here in northern IL and waited maybe 5 minutes. The precinct next to me was probably around 15 minutes though. I was very happy to be there as it was my first election ever. :sohappy:

When the polls opened; it was like opening the floodgates. Everyone was trying to vote before they needed to be at work (7AM). There was a rush for the folks who work 8-5, 9-6, then it was steady all day. The precinct I work in had 71.9% turnout, which is fantastic. We were hoping for 80%+.
Congratulations on voting for your first time. Did your poll commissioners applaud you when you finished? Every first time voter at my precinct, gets applauded by ALL of the commissioners who work there (15 of us). We get some shocked faces when that curtain comes back and you have all of these workers doing this to them.
