how does upgrade affect pin?

I booked our next trip using a pin code for our room. We're currently booked at pofq. To get the room discount I had to book the trip by 2/28/11 which I did. I'm now considering upgrading to a deluxe room for our trip as a surprise to my sister (the two of us are going for her bday and she's not able to afford doing this kind of thing so I thought my gift to her could be paying for the upgrade). I understand the pin codes cover only a certain number of rooms but assuming a room is available for our dates etc.... will I loose my pin discount by upgrading?

I don't know about rooms, but we upgraded our free dining to Deluxe Dining one year, and we got the discount, just payed for the difference in plans.

The best answer is to call them. Disney will NOT switch you until you say to do so, so you wont lose your discount on your current reservation at all. If there is availability with your PIN they can tell you what your options would be at a Deluxe level resort. Have a great time!!! Marie
