I was wondering how the Rider Swap (aka baby swap) works? We are going down in may and our kids will be 4 1/2 years and 14 months. So we were wondering how this works. Can someone explain it to us?

Do they give fast pass? Do you wait then get right now?

The rides all have different ways they do things. But mainly, you go up to the cm at the entrance to the ride and tell them you will be using the rider swap. They will usually give you a fastpass that allows you to ride it again with two other guests. That way if one of you waits with the kids, the other one can get right on when you are finished.

They do this at Star Tours... Make sure to mention this to the CM and ask them what to do..they do their rider switch right there at the gate. :)

We do this all of the time, but be advised that this can take some time. More than usual for some attractions. DH and rode Soarin' with FP on a slow day and it still took 1.5 hrs for us to both ride. EE was quick though.

The one time I tried to use this was on RNR and the CM told me my wife and kids could wait inthe court yard until I was done then wife could get back in line just like anyone else. Not very useful. But good luck with a more helpful CM.

I'm surprised at the few reports of trouble with the rider switch process. I've had no trouble at all. Each ride does it differently, so ask the CMs. If there is fastpass, they usually just give you a fastpass, so one rides throught the normal line and the other then goes throught the FP line. If there is no fastpass at the ride, there will be another way to do it. If you get a dumb CM who doesn't know the process, just find another!

On most rides, this works fine. Someone mentioned Soarin as a problem, and they are right. Because of the loading process for Soarin', even a trip through the FP line takes about 45 minutes start to finish, so doing it twice...twice as long. But everything else works great.

By the way, the 4 1/2 year old will likely be tall enough for most rides. My 4 year old rode Soarin', Test Track, Thunder and Splash Mountains, Kali River Rapids, etc.

We tried to do this with Soarin' and the CM at the gate wanted to see the other parent with the child so you may all have to be present to get the baby swap pass. Belle
