people get the free dining plan? is it a random thing? do you have to ask?? I just dont understand how some get this option free???

Disney has offered the "free dining" promotion for a period of time in August/September in '05, '06, and '07. The exact dates and booking period were released in April. For this year, booking ended June 24th. It's not available for all dates at all resorts; some flexibility is usually required to qualify for the promotion. It seems as though free dining will be back next August/September, too, because it has already been offered in the UK and guests currently in WDW have been offered "bounce-back" free dining if they booked for '08 (and paid the deposit) prior to check out. Watch next spring for it to be released to Disney Visa cardholders first, then to the general public.

So far, it has been offered to repeat guests who received free dining in 2007.
But, it may be offered to the generel public or another group later, probably depending on the response to the initial offer.
