So, i've been thinking about what i would do if my acting career doesn't go so well, which i'm giving many years, but incase it doesn't, what would i like to do, or be involved with?

I believe that working with the Disney company would be great, but i'd like to work my way up, so that i can make a real difference in the company. I know they hire within the company alot, but i'm not sure how to go about it.

should i get my MBA then get a job that i can with Disney and work my way up? what kind of job would that be?

anyone got any suggestions?

good question

and by the way... your signatre says:: "I love Disney. If my acting career goes well, i'll do some good work for them, if it goes badly, perhaps, i'll try to work my way up the Disney latter. . . ", i think it should be L-A-D-D-E-R, because latter means "second of two" as in "do you want cookies or ice cream" "I'll take the latter"

just a little suggestion...:D <!-- / sig -->

Connor has that dictionary at hand! :wave: Good for you buddy! However, I can't eat either the cookies or the ice cream (they give me gas). Could I have some Oolong tea instead?

Any job in Disney that is a Manager or Executive position is based on 2 things. Experience, and years with the company. Both pretty much go hand in hand. You get experience working in a position, and the longer you stay, the better chances you have of getting a higher position. Also, experience from past jobs is very very helpful.

I too am seeking an executive position with Disney one day soon I hope.Im going a different route. I work for Coca-Cola as On Premise Account Manager.I deal with sponsorship activities between Coke and Cold Drink accounts such as country clubs,cruise ships,government agencies,and certain retail companies like Circuit City and Home Depot.I am trying to move up the corporate ladder with Coke in a high enough position that might make me attractive to Disney since I work for a large worldwide corporation in a mid level position.I would have moved to Orlando years ago and maybe started from the entry level ranks and work my way up but with a wife and 2 kids couldnt afford to take that route. If I cant obtain something in a mgt role at WDW -Ill go to Consumer Products maybe in Product Developement and maybe try an inter-company transfer after a year or so.

Disney prefers to promote within the company. Believe me, I've spoken to a few of my managers (when you're global, you have a LOT of them!), because my plan after I graduate is to gradually work my way up from the position I'm in now (which is a position a CP can do), become a captain (kind of like an assistant manager in my department), and just in general work my way up to management and maybe higher.

Two perfect examples of promotion within the company:
The vice-president of Disney/MGM Studios started off as a performer as a summer job in college.
Al Weiss also started working in WDW for a summer job. He started as custodial. Now look where he's at.

So if you want to get into management, work your way up. It'll show dedication and commitment.
