How cold is it in Feb?

We're planning to go down to WDW in mid-Feb. How cold is it during that time? What was it like around that time last year? Is it too cold to swim?

Also - we're either staying at the WL or the Boardwalk. Which would you pick? We've stayed at the WL several times already but never at the Boardwalk. I would like to be closer to the MK (this trip) and if it's colder at night, the fire in the lobby would be nice. But, I always like trying something new.

Wacky FL winters

I live south of Orlando and can tell you the temps in FL can be very wild. One day you can have temps in the 70's or low 80's in Feb and then some cold front will come through and the next day you can have lows down in the 30's maybe down in the 20's w/ wind chill. So your best bet is just to check a few days before you trip to see what they are predicting. Most likely it will be warmer than it is in Chicago but with out weather you can never tell.

And the cold fronts can move in quickly! One day I went to a nail salon in a large mall to get a manicure and pick up a couple of things. It was shorts and tee shirt weather when I went in. When I got out a couple of hours later, the temperature had dropped almost 20 degrees.

Since that day, if a cold front is predicted, I always make sure I have a jacket or sweater with me.

You Florida people are making me sick, though - shorts and tees! Ahhh - I'm so jealous right now.
