How cold is it in Feb?

We're planning to go down to WDW in mid-Feb. How cold is it during that time? What was it like around that time last year? Is it too cold to swim?

Also - we're either staying at the WL or the Boardwalk. Which would you pick? We've stayed at the WL several times already but never at the Boardwalk. I would like to be closer to the MK (this trip) and if it's colder at night, the fire in the lobby would be nice. But, I always like trying something new.

Thanks!

We really enjoyed our trip to the Boardwalk last February. We have never tried the WL so I can't compare, but I can say that the BW was a special experience. Our oldest loved the Keister Coaster water slide, but the pool was so cold that she really only got one day to try it out. And even then, she was freezing. It was also nice to be near the boardwalk entertainment at night and be able to do a quick walk to Epcot for a late night snack or dinner.

you can check www.wunderground.com and see what the temps were like for the past years. It varies really. Highs anywhere from the 50's to 70's depending on the year. They can get cold fronts that come in that approach freezing but I think it is odd. It will probably be too cold to swim.

Can't help much for the hotels, I have never stayed at either. But from what I have seen, I would think WL would be cozier in the winter since Boardwalk is themed more like a summer vacation spot. But you have already stayed at WL so maybe something new would be nice.

As far as the weather, when we were there this past February, we got to swim a couple of times. Could have done it more if we wanted to. But the weather is great! Enjoy!:xmas:

Thanks for the replies! I guess we won't be doing much swimming - but I wouldn't mind using the hot tubs! How do you all dress in Feb? I'm guessing we'll wear layers so we can add/remove layers depending on the temp.

I'm hoping the weather is warmer (at least 70), because by February, we'll need an escape from this Chicago cold/snow!

We've been going every February (President's week) since 2006, and we only had one day in all those visits that we were not in shorts at some point during the day. We swim in a heated pool at the house we rent. It all depends what you're used to I think. When you're coming from temps in the teens, high 60's - low 70's are pretty warm!
I took this picture last year of the forecast the week we were there:

You're right Nemo -- anything warmer than 60 will seem like a heat-wave to us! I always laugh when we're in California and it's 65-70 out and the locals are dressing like they're in the north pole!

We've seen kids waiting for the school bus in winter coats (while we're sitting by the pool). The sweetest thing is when they have a huge snowstorm back home while we're down there - yes, the Weather channel can be quite entertaining!

The answer depends a lot on where you're coming from.

From Ottawa, where temps can be in the minus twenties to thirties, WDW in February is quite balmy! I'll be there 10-18 Feb, I'll have long slacks and carry sweatshirts to put on over a golf shirt in the evenings. It can be very pleasant, even hot, during the day, but once the sun sets it gets quite cool quickly. So long as you've prepared, it's fine. The parks do close earlier that time of year, so even though it cools down, you're not exposed to it all that long.

The pools are heated year-round, but getting out wet can be "very invigorating" :D. One time, we stayed at POFQ and our room was a short walk to the hot tub... That was wonderful!

We had no problem swimming during the day or at night (heated pools) when we visited last Dec./Jan. We are from Canada and found it comfortable swimming when the air temperature was in the mid 50's to 70's. There were people in long pants and fleece jackets freezing while watching us, so I guess it's what you're used to. If you're from the Chicago area, you know cold too and will probably be fine to swim. :-)

All you canadians are brave souls..swimming in 50 degree weather! I don't know if I'm THAT brave but my husband will probably swim. I wish the WL had robes so we could wear the down to the hot tubs. :D

Most evenings the temperature was in the mid 60's and it was comfortable in the heated water. When we got out, it was cold, but the brief minutes of being chilled was worth the experience. We don't get to swim outdoors in January here. :-)

You will probably find the daytime temperatures are comfortable in the mid 70's. It will probably be warmer than Chicago in February.

FYI.....The main pool at WL is going to be closed for the month of February 2007. I believe the pool at the villas will be open as well as the kids pool and hot tub. We'll be there President's week as well, escaping Massachusetts to stay at the Poly. Can't wait!!!!!! Also, We stayed at WL last year; it's a gorgeous resort, great location. You won't be sorry! Just don't get a room on the lobby like we did. Too mush noise from WCC (KETCHUP!!!!!!!)

This is Florida. It wont be cold. Highs 70s, maybe 80s, and then again maybe 60s. but not <60. it will be nice. go, and have a good time, shorts and a t-shirt are fine and you might need a jacket at night.

I live in orlando, I don't know what the freezing point of water is.

You can never know. We can be cold as heck or in the upper 70's during that time. Using the averages some weather sites have will not help since they too figure it as between 40 and 70 and thats a big difference.

I can tell you we are having a typical large range of temps week after week.
this week it has been in the 70's during the day and 60 at night but just a few weeks ago it was in the 40's at night.

The nice thing about Disney though is your indoors alot. All that walking around, the cold weather makes it feel so good....maybe it is just us since we dont get much of that. :)

Well guys I live close to Orlando and our winter this year so far has been extremley mild. By extremley I mean I went out to dinner with some friends last week in a tank top and shorts! I know that has been predicated that we were going to have a "hard" winter, but if this is any indication as to whats to come then I would say yoour looking at the 70's range! But I will tell u this its suppose to be around 80 or 90 on Christmas day!
