How close are you to WDW?

Living in Winter Park, we are 25 miles away, via I-4. On a good day, that means 35 minutes, but on a bad day that means an hour and 15 minutes. Usually Saturdays are much worse than Sundays, and weekdays are the best. It's much like going to Cape Cod on Friday and leaving on Sunday during the summer (you can tell where I grew up).

Yeah measuring distance to Disney is kind of a fruitless endeavor... I live about 6 miles away and completely agree that depending on the traffic on either 4 or 192 it can take like 15 minutes or it can take 6 hours if there's a good accident on 4 and traffic gets backed up everywhere else...

Definitely agreed.

About 1200 miles away here in London, Ontario. We've been to WDW twice since spring of 2014, and we will be going again at the end of October. We are close enough that we can head straight down I-75 and be there in just over a day.

About 1,100 miles away - Northern New Jersey. No, I am not going to drive it. My family used to have a cabin in Canada, and every year we made the 400 mile one way trip multiple times - I have had enough of riding in cars.to last a lifetime. (I still make the 300 mile one way trip to Vermont every so often because my parentes decided to retire up there)

We hit WDW about once a year. Sometimes it is the whole fmaily of 5, and other times it is just my wife and I. It depends on what the flights are costing, and how many DVC points we have left to work with.

I used to think that making that long drive to Orlando was going to be horrible, but we did it, and I didn't mind it at all, even though we ran into a 4 1/2 hour detour around an I-75 rock slide in Tennessee. Having said that, I was dead tired after driving from 3:00 am until 11:00 pm, and then driving a few more hours the next morning to get to WDW, but getting to WDW kind of gave me an energy boost.

Honestly, it is not so much the trip there, but the trip back. The whole time I am on vacation it is nagging me in the back of my mind that I have a long drive once the vacation is done. I used to feel that way when we went to Canada, I felt that way when I drove to Myrtle Beach SC, and I still feel that way when I visit my parents in Vermont.

Yeah, that drive back home is like a long death march. We broke it up last time by stopping in Savannah and Nashville on the way home, but this year, it is gonna be a straight shot home, and I'm not looking forward to it.

You might want to refigure that. I used to live in Vermont and it was 1500 miles away. I now live in NC and it is a little over 600 miles away. I can't see how Ontario can be closer then Vermont.

Well, not as close as some here, but I'm only 15 or 16
hours
away by Interstate highway...

It was a guess, but I was close. It is 1289 miles from door to door, according to Google Maps. I do have to point out that I live in the extreme southwestern end of Ontario, about 120 miles east of Detroit, which does puts me a bit closer to Orlando-the closest part of Ontario to Vermont is the Montreal area, which is 445 miles northeast of where I live.

482 miles away. Absolutely love the drive though, expect the stretch of i4 between Daytona and the outskirts of Orlando. It's just downright depressing.

Maine... 1450 miles... about 23 hours drive, I take 2 days to drive, but I did do a killer 1 day drive back once. We have friends who live 45 min., 30 min. and 20 min. away.
