How badly Leave a Legacy failed!

I hope they don't take it away as a lot of people bought tribute stones for family members and people who just got married it would be sad to have the stones removed from Epcot all together, moved to a differant location maybe, but if I had purchased one last year and it was already gone I would be very upset. They must have a contract somewhere that says how long they will be displayed for.

I don't think anybody has been calling for their outright removal. A relocation and a reworking of Epcot's entrance seems to be the line everyone has been toeing.

Not to mention if we made them into benches or heck - even ride vehicles, then people would complain they're being sat upon.
Well look at that.... Merf is complaining about people complaining. Is there anything you won't complain about?

Well, news flash, at the moment people are walking around going "Gosh, these things are ugly" and Disney is letting the poor tiles fade away in the sun.
Well those people must be following you because I have never heard one comment about the structures outside of the internet.

Kids climb all over them, birds poo on them, and I use them as a tripod for taking nighttime photos of SSE. I think getting walked on is the least of the worries.
1) I have never scene any bird crap on them nor have I heard anyone who has.

2) Kids aren't supposed to be climbing on them. People doing what they shouldn't be is a lot different then people walking on them (which obviously wouldn't be "against the rules").

Idea:

What if they used them as big metallic pavers in the shape of the original Epcot logo? They could put them where the big logo is in the ground behind the fountain. Even a big plaque in the middle describing what they are.

That sounds cool! The only problem I can imagine is people having to bend over or crouch down to see the plates, and everyone would be crowded in the same place. I feel like they would have to be spread out more.

I hope that the powers that be monitor this forum and take into consideration some of the suggestions as to what to do with the LAL tiles. There have been some really great suggestions as to how to preserve the tiles in a more attractrive way that won't make those of us who purchased them feel robbed.

really? because I have. and no im not talking about people in my party (though they complain about them too) I have heard other guests complain about them especially when leaving the park (I remember one guy on my last trip saying something to the effect of "its like an obstacle course to find the exit because of these damn things").

I have seen kids climb on them. It is a liability for disney. Not sure about the bird crap but im sure thats there too.

I doesn't seem to stop you from making some more snide sideways remarks in an attempt to look witty. Keep on. Keep on.

Thanks I was waiting for your permission.

Im cut to the core that you dont think Im witty though, Im devistated, in fact I dont know how I will sleep tonight.

Perhaps I shall dream of tombstones and wands.

Ok, it basically boils down to this.

What after LAL Merf? What will be next? What will be the next thing on your list that doesnt meet your expectations or tastes, that Disney has failed at or not lived up to your expectations? Will it be their involvement with Make a Wish? Will it be their involvement with Extreem Makeover: Home Edition? Will it be some attraction, or announcement of an attraction that isnt up to your standards?

And yet are not stubborn for refusing to budge on your statement that Leave a Legacy was a complete and total failure? ;)
Bingo. While I completely respect your opinion, you're preaching it like its fact and anyone opposed to it is a moron. Thats why so many are responding to this thread.

I say give it a few years and lets just see what happens. :)

I think he just implied that merf complains about everything that isn't perfect and should probably find a hobby outside of WDW...no...Epcot. I appreciate merf's pictures since he seems to go to Epcot every day, but I skip most of the commentary anymore. Save the Fountainview? Well, at least I got a chuckle. How about "Save our Soldiers"?

The first 3 sentences of the second paragraph of your post.

Beyond that, bringing up Extreme Makeover and Make-a-wish have nothing to do with the subject at hand. How are these equivalent to Leave a Legacy?

It is really turning into childish playground bullying. The forums would be a allot more dull without Merf for sure. At the end of the day if you don't like the posts be critical of the post not the poster or ignore them.

Perhaps there would be less criticism if opinion wernt posted as fact.

Just a thought.
