I only understood a couple of words in this sentence but If you're implying that you and I should get together
drink whiskey, eat fried animal innards and potatoes.....THEN YES I'M IN!!!!;)
Sorry! Tatties refers to potatoes, neeps are turnip, and people outside Scotland think Haggis is from a sheeps stomach.Nonsense, this is just to put off other countries eating oor national dish. It's actually made from chocolate flavoured whisky thro a blender then deep fried in a whisky batter, then served with a large (dram) of 15 yr old highland malt whisky.Sssh. :)

So they played a joke on me when I ate those sheep organs and I was told it was haggis... darn. My dear son saw haggis on a menu once and asked me what it was. When I told him he said the only Scottish food I'm eating is MacDonald's.
According to my son you've got just a good a chance of getting intesines or worse at McDonald's.
He was a huge McDonalds chicken nugget and burger fan and then he heard all the the talk about 'pink slime', by products and such McD's uses and he hasn't eaten there or any fast food place since. By default neither has the rest of the family. I've lost a few pounds but I miss the fries and the occasional Big Mac. ;)

Now ain't that something. The McDonald clan were notorious sheep rustlers in Glencoe back in 1784 when they slaughtered the baa baa's ( sheep ) then put them thro a mincer and made burgers for the McGregor clan in the next Glen.Hence the famous McBurger was born and eventually bought over by Donald McDonald in 1904.Whit! You don't believe me.

I've heard about this, wasn't the Black Adders Scottish cousin Mac Adder the partner of Donald Mac Donald?

Rabbie Burns night wae a big dram of malt whisky and a plate of haggis, tatties,& neeps,Ye cannae beat it.I'll convert you.:)

Neeps & tatties (with baked beans and mince) - Urg, sorry, thats another of those "had it a number of times and it never got better" dishes.

Now some haggis and a dram of somthing of Islay - that's a fine time.

Hell, I will even admit to having had canned haggis - yeah, just about as good as it sounds.

Squid is one of my favorites and I can tell you I have had a lot of Calamari in my day and one of the best I have ever had was at the Turf Club (SSR). They serve it with banana peppers and I have to tell you it just might be the best out there!

The restaruant down the road from me in town - The Montville Inn - http://www.montvilleinn.com/pdfs/DINNER MENU.pdf does a very strange calamari. The plate is divided into two parts, and each half is different. To quote their menu "The "inn's" famous calamari - Kung Pao with Pineapple, the other Hot Cherry Peppers with Shallots and Garlic" The Kung Pao overwhelms the calamari if you ask me, but the other side is worth the price of admission.

They also do a Fried Develed Egg - they take a normal develed egg, coat it in panko, and fry that thing up. Interesting, but not somthing I usually order.

So Iam just curious when you dine out at WDW,do you stick to what you know on the menu,or do you go on the wild side and order something you've never had before. This year whilst dining at Cali Grill I was about to back out ordering Sushi, something I've never tried, but at the last moment decided to give it a try and ended up loving it.So are you the type of person who sticks to your known favourite or go for something you've never had.:)

I will try new things just not what i would consider strange things. I do not eat any fish anymore (had a bad expereince and i just can bring myself to eat it again) so that is def out for me.

I can see how the Kung Pao is a little overwhelming! Typically when you order Kung Pao at a Asian restaurant it is over sauced and to much well is to much.

The fried deviled egg sounds really good though.

The pamphlet the comes with the bottle says its "la-frog". I "own" more than a couple of square inches of that distillery (for evey bottle you buy they give you a deed to a square inch.

There is a bottle of Bowmore in the cupboard right now too. :D

This December I intend to raise my Adventurous Quotient to 9.6 x 10^5 from a measely 4 on the Kungaloosh Scale of Bravery vs. Stupidity by sampling the Macallan 18yr at my namesake. It's time to expand my horizons apart from Jameson's and Cider.
