Does anyone find the DC being very teen poper these days. now im only 16 and when i was younger DC was pretty good, they had recess and they were still playing Walt Disneys Wonderful World of Color. But now i cant watch half the movies Altho I did like High School Musical.

Now they do have Toon D:fork:isney AND the Disney CHANNEL
How about a Diffrent Disney Channel like a Vintage Disney, Where they play Wonderdul world of color, and zorro, along with other the cool behinde the scence shows they play on the Travel Channel.

This is suppose to be a fun discussion Please dont turn these evil :fork:

Thankz:wave:

They need a new one, that shows the old stuff! I think, that these days, they're making TOO MANY cheesy cartoon shows and stuff of the nature!

I do agree Disney Channel need a mode just for us the Disney fans, like when thy use to play Vault Disney or Disney World Inside Out (i miss Inside Out).

Classic Disney Channel, with a good line up can survive and have some special new programming, why not learn from TV land or AMC. that what Disney need in TV for DIsney Fans

I think a special Vault Disney Channel would be an excellent idea. I don't so much mind them doing teenybopper aimed shows, I mean really a lot of what we consider classic Disney today was aimed at a teen audience back then.

I never thought of that. But what about all the Disney cartoons? Not that that really bothers me too much; if they were to still show the old Disney cartoons, they would still have had them edited, which is clearly not the case with the WDT. I think the least they can do is restore the old Disney Channel logo: the Mickey head on a TV screen full of stripes.

Maybe if they were to buy AMC, maybe we could see what we want. However, let's not forget the Walt Disney Treasures. Each wave always has at least one anthology episode somewhere within, either in whole or tandem. Here's what they are specifically:

  • WAVE ONE: The Disneyland Story (1954); Disneyland After Dark (1962); Disneyland 10th Anniversary (1965); all five Davy Crockett episodes
  • WAVE TWO: The Story of the Animated Drawing (1955); The Plausible Impossible (1956); Tricks of Our Trade (1957)
  • WAVE THREE: All episodes supposedly set in Tomorrowland
  • WAVE FOUR: A Story of Dogs (1954)
  • WAVE FIVE: A Day In the Life of Donald Duck (1956); a handful of the Elfego Baca and Swamp Fox serieses
  • WAVE SIX: Where Do Stories Come From (1956); The Fourth Anniversary Show (1957); I Captured the King of the Leprechauns (1959); Backstage Party (1961); Disneyland 10th Anniversary (1965)

Also, provided you have a membership, you can download many of these episodes and many others on Mousebits.com. But if they're not there, then sooner or later, it will be; it usually is.

I Agree! I WANT A NEW "OLD" DISNEY CHANNEL!

I remember watching all those different showswhen I was a kid!

I remember watching the old Mickey Mouse Club and Dinosaurs! :sohappy:

All of those shows are my childhood and I would love to relive it again without going to youtube!

Disney says they want to bring you back to that happy area of your life! Why don't they take all of those shows and create a channel? It's Logic! I Love it! Another thing they can do is have that 8:00 movie but make it the Classic Disney movies. Classic movies like Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Snow White. Oh that would be the best!

I would be walking on a cloud! :king:

I don't mind the Disney Channel now. I like Hannah Montana, yes it is a little Teen-ish but that is just one of the groups of audience they are trying to grab.

They need to have both and make everybody satisfied!

I would love to see a Vault Disney-like block to be aired once again, not necessarily a leap into a complete station.

Some of the classic cartoons would be great, like Ducktales, Talespin, Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck... all decent shows that I remember from a while ago... and for some time they were being shown on ToonDisney when it first started. I just looked through the schedule for the next few days and the oldest cartoons on the channel are Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Timon and Pumba two episode a piece every weekend. And any of the older shows look a lot better than many of the shows they air now... downright bizarre they seem, but then again, I'm not the targeted audience.

The original Disney Channel stopped entertaining me a long time ago. Even when they were airing reruns of long dead sitcoms, it was enjoyable I remember a show specifically called So Weird, which interested me more than others. Kind of like a Twilight Zone for the Disney Channel. And Vault Disney was amazing. I remember a visit to the hospital for an x-ray late at night when I was about twelve. In the room I was in we had the television tuned to Vault Disney and my parents were reminiscing as we watched Zorro and The Mickey Mouse Club, it was a good time. Today, most of the shows on the Disney Channel off as annoying to me. Maybe it's me, maybe it's society today, maybe both. I wouldn't be surprised if it's mostly me, I for one could not stand High School Musical, (not just dislike, I cannot sit through it).

So yeah. I think a return of classic programming would be great. I would watch it definitely. However, I don't think a completely new channel would be a safe move.

Another thing that I just thought of, Nickelodeon made Noggin and GAS. Both of those channels have all the other old shows why can't Disney!?

I really want a OLD Disney!

TDC is dreck. Bring back the stuff we used to see. I loved those old segue spots that showed Mickey's hands from a first-person perspective riding in a mine car and various other things.

I would totally watch a Diz Channel like that again.

Bring back the old stuff... then maybe the kids will actually know who WALT DISNEY was!!!!

Even if they did some on the weekends, and do another Vault Disney type overnight... then I could set my DVR and still enjoy. I miss MMC and Spin and Marty and Annette and Cubby and Karen...

BRING BACK BLACK AND WHITE TV!!! Who needs another cheap brainless version of what they have now. Except for House of Mouse or whatever they are calling it now a days... how do the kids even know who the characters are?????

I can never forget the original zoog disney. That had real good shows that actually were inteded for teens and entertained teens. Shows like Bug Juice, the Famous Jet Jackson, So Weird, and even the Boy Meets World reruns were all very entertaining. Even the original movies were better back then. And i miss waiting up until 1:00 A.M. to watch the Mickey Mouse club. I grew up with that disney channel and part of me really misses it.

Disney has some great content locked up. I am surprised DC hasn't split into parts. It worked very well for Nickelodeon about 15 years ago witht he NickatNite launch. I think that block could do well now. Pick a different theme for each night regarding the type of show. Then, if it does do really well, then spin off a new station.

Hi Disneyfan2000.. I agree. The Disney Channel is very "teen" these days. I still miss House of Mouse, which was one of the later shows that has now been replace by The Mickey Mouse Playhouse. I also love HSM, I do get a kick out of Life with Derek as well. Other than that I miss the old school Disney Channel. I have my Tivo set to record any WDW shows and as of late they have had several like Holidays at WDW etc. Most of those shows are on Travel, Discovery or Food Network. Anywho.. Hi from RI.

I think Disneyfan2000 meant to say "teen proper".

As for "Disney's wonderful wall color", he meant to say, "Disney's Wonderful World of Color".

I find it amusing that people are saying they want the "old" shows like "Bug Juice" and "So Weird", those really aren't old enough to have a nostalgia channel for yet.

I agree. I was just saying to my husband the other day how the Disney Channel is becoming like MTV where it has completely drifted from what it was supposed to be.

... or Disney World Inside Out (i miss Inside Out).

I used to LOVE WDWIO!! That was a fantastic show.

I couldn't agree more; I miss the Disney channel that used to actually play the original Disney cartoons, Lunch Box, WDWIO, the old Wonderful World of Disney (with Walt)... Does anyone remember seeing the promo for Disney World that showed Tomorrowland/the speedway/mouseboats while playing Born to Be Wild? That was is one of my first memories of wanting to go to WDW...:o
