HOB

I've always walked right by the HOB, got in the car, and went to Margarittaville!

I hear the food is bad at HOB!

I'm a huge Disney Fan, but when it comes to fun and eating, I think Margaritaville wins hands down over Several afforadable Disney Eateries!

Margaritaville is Jimmy Buffet's restaurant named after his song by the same name. It's on Universal CityWalk. I've never eaten there, I just went into the shop and bought myself a shirt  Did the same thing at the House of Blues actually! I just didn't have time to eat there and didn't make reservations...maybe on my trip next year I will!

"Wasting away again in Margaritaville....":D ;)

HOB (House of Blues) has great food! But unlike the HOB in Chicago, where there is an actual hotel next to it....the HOB in Orlando is really only good for the food and the ocasional band that will play there. Sometimes you will be surprised at the big names that are actually booked there.
When in Orlando, check out the HOB website for up coming bands when you get there. You might be in for a HUGE surprise!

Everyone's tastes are differant.

For this reason I don't make a habit of saying things " like this place's food is the worst or this place's is the best."

Find out for yourself. Go into The House of Blues, pick out somthing on the menu that you might think you might like and then try it for yourself.

Everyone has differant experiences and opinions. Don't be swayed by ours. I think alot of the fun of going on a vacation is finding out for ones self which restaurants are to your liking.

I really like HoB. It's one of my favorite restaurants on property. If you like southern/cajun/spicy food, I'll particularly recommend it.

The funky new folk art interior is definately worth visiting. And compared to the $9 hamberger at Planet Hollywood, it's definately one of the better chain restaurants on the West Side.

House of Blues is extremely good! I have been there 3 times in various trips to Disney. I even made my aunts and grandma go when we went to Florida not even to go to Disney. They all loved it! I go there just for the skillet corn bread! It's excellent! Hey the brownie sundae ain't too shabby either..hah :animwink:

I’m a mega picky eater but a few years ago I had dinner at the House of Blues a few times and liked what I got each time (I think I stuck with burgers and sandwiches) my friend got ribs (I think) and I remember him raving about it. The service was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

As far as Margaritaville I was disappointed with the atmosphere and the food was so/so – but City Walk is a hard sell for me, I think Universal dropped the ball there. The Motown Restaurant was the pits and the service stunk:hurl: .

Planet Hollywood at one time was great but it seems to have lost the quality of food and service. They had an appetizer called Chicken Crunch :slurp: (chicken fingers made with Captain Crunch) that was great but I stopped going when they took it off the menu.

oh my goodness, I LOVED THE CAPTAIN CRUNCH CHICKEN TENDERS! i've tried to make them at home several times and they're just never the same...
:veryconfu

I just had them in December 02, I'm suprised they're gone already...and even more mad since they've taken them off the menu and won't be there when I go in December of 04

Didn't they call them something silly with turkey in the title? :hammer:

I’ve only eaten at HOB once and I enjoyed it a lot. I had the ribs which I found to be very tasty. The best part of the meal was desert. Southern Pecan pie topped with vanilla bean ice cream.

Heading for the great escape.
Ive eaten at the HOB a few times so obviously I liked it or I wouldnt go back. I usually try things that I cant get easilyhere in the UK, like the Cajun dishes. theyve all been pretty good.

I must say that on my last visit it just felt that something was missing. The foodwas ok but not great as in previous visits, the service was fine ad freindly, I dont know it just felt like a place going through the motions i you know what I mean.

What it does mean though is we wont be going this summer or Woffgang Sukks. But I agree with the earlier comment about Margariteaville, it was the surprise eatery of our trip and we will definately be back this summer. My only complaint is the server didnt mention that the nachos were such big prtions and that perhaps we were order too much:brick:
