House of Blues

We will be going to DTD on our first day at WDW. We were thinking of dining at Planet Hollywood that afternoon, but thought we might try something else. What are your opinions or thoughts on the House of Blues? Would this be a better choice? We have made somewhat of a tradition of eating at PH on every trip, and thought a change might be in order. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. It will be just 2 adults. Thanks,

I've always loved the House of Blues. If either of you are a fan of Chicken w/ cajun spices, try The Elwood. Best chicken sandwich I've ever had, period.

House of Blues is pretty good. The atomsphere inside is great and the food is quite tasty. My only complaint is that if you go during a time they have live music playing, it is very loud and not a place you should go if you enjoy conversation while eating.

I'm a fan of the House of Blues as a franchise. You are paying for the theming, just as you do at Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood, but the music is good, the food is good and the decor is good as well. Traveling as adults, even better. :king:

One question though - if stopping by Planet Hollywood has become your tradition, why is it time for a change?

Always wondered, if there is a band in there and you just want to go in for a meal with the family, do you have to pay to get in or is the concert area separate from the dining area? :shrug:

Cool, thanks. Of course our last two trips to WDW, two of my favourite guitarists of all time just happened to be playing at the HOB the night we were at DTD. Missed them both and am still kicking myself in the butt for not going in to check them out. It happened to be on the night of our arrival both times and I was a bit whipped from the LONG drive down and just wanted to get back to the room early to rest up.

Another thumbs up for the HoB, couldnt fit in in last trip but its been a regular stop since it opened. Never had a duff meal and service has always been excellent.

I would definately choose House of Blues over Planet Hollywood but I suppose its just personal choice.

If you are regulars to PH you muct enjoy but I would def say HOB is work a try this time. Take a look at the menu if you haven't already.

House of Blues is a zillion times better than Planet Hollywood. They're not on the DDP so the servers tend to be friendlier and the food is AMAZING....AND you can make reservations!! :sohappy::sohappy:
