I also preferred the Polynesian when my children were small. The Contemporary was too noisy (in the lobby) and the GF seemed a bit too stuffy.

The Poly is nice for little ones because we could walk around the quiet, well landscaped grounds and get away from the sensory (especially noise) overload of the parks. Then we would always walk to the lobby to look at the parrots, fish in the pools, etc. The boat launch to MK is a fun change from the monorail.

My vote is the Poly as well. CR used to be a king with kids with the gigantic arcade, but it's changed - and it feels busier than the Poly. The view inside the CR is very cool, but you can always hop on the monorail and look at it...it does lose impact after a while.

With the Poly, you also get a great pool - if your child is swimming already. Plus, there's lots for the kiddies to look at, and it's serene to remove some of the mega-stimulation that WDW is renowned for.

As for the GF, I absolutely loved it when I was 20. But given the room expense, it simply isn't worth it for a 3 1/2 year old...not to mention the stuffiness of some of the patrons. My kids are 2 and 7 and I wouldn't take them there now.

For a monorail resort, gotta go with the Poly. Off monorail? That's a different story...

Beachclub. You cannot beat the pool and they have character breakfast.

Beach Club shares the "busy" pool with the Yacht Club, but the Beach Club is closer. The pool (Stormalong Bay) is known for having water features for older kids, but it also has an incredible kiddie area, with a sand bottom pool.

I don't want to go into too much detail, but it made me wish my kids were little again. There is also a sandy beach on the lake, but no swimming is allowed. If you're lucky, you can nab a hammock or glider and watch the lights come on at the Boardwalk across the way. You can also see Illuminations if you stand in the right spot.
