In june, we stayed at the value level at PC. We requested a WC accessible for a fam of 5. Well, they gave us two connecting rooms, one WC acc. one not. They said they do that because the WC rooms do not acc. more than 2 at the value level so it's standard for them to do that. Cool

For our next trip, I'm thinking to upgrade to moderate level. I wonder do they do this there, too, though? I'm not trying to be greedy but I want to upgrade for a new experience (I've only stayed at mod. level once and that was POFQ with my parents as a kid). Yet, if upgrading means we actually get less space.... well basically I don't want to give my husband something to complain about (he's not a theme park lover and has to be drug against his will kicking and screaming:drevil:).

Also, will the value resort with family suites be done next year?

Thanks:wave:

If you want to know when the new resort will be done than I suggest you do a little searching

I don't want anyone to GIVE anything. It's what THEY did. I didn't request it. In fact, if the WC accessible rooms are big enough for a family of 5, that's fine, too. Just asked if anyone knew as I can't find an answer. JA

I've never heard of them doing that at French Quarter. The rooms there are much larger to begin with, and there is plenty of room to maneuver a wheelchair in almost all the rooms, let alone those that are especially accommodated...

I'm not saying that they might not do that, especially if the resort is half-empty during your visit -- but I have not heard of it.

OP - The new resort suites at POP are supposed to open up sometime near the end of next year in time for the Holiday season according to what I have read. As far as your room goes, I disagree that you are being selfish but you will have to cough up some money to get what you want. I hope that helps.

Thank you both. I wasn't aware how much bigger the rooms were over there :) Like I said, I'm not looking for anything but the ability to sleep my family while manuevering a wheelchair.

In the past, I've requested a WC room to be told by resv. that ALL rooms were accessible but they really arent'. Yeah, you can get a WC through the door but no further than that (value level). This last time, the resv. person said oh, there's a special dept for REAL WC users. huh? Really? Like I wasn't asking that the last 4yrs lol We originally booked a wc room and a second room cause we were travelling with 6 (my young SIL) but she backed out so I changed the resv. back to 1 room. When we checked in, though, they gave us two keys saying one room is comp. because value resorts can only accom. 2 in the true WC rooms (1 king bed) so if a party has more than two, they automatically give the second attaching room. It was great and, for once, we had enough room to actually bring his chair in the room.

So I know if we stay at value, we'll probably get the same thing again but I want to try Moderate level but I'm iffy cause I don't know what to expect.

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but there are suites already open over at the All Stars. This may be an option. As far as moderates go the only 5 person room are ar Port Orleans, unless you want to upgrade to a suite in Coronado which can sleep up to 6.

No, I didn't know that. Do you have any more info on this?

All Star Family Suites

My wife, 2 children (ages 8 and 11), and myself stayed in one of the All Star Family Suites (Music). It worked out very well for the 4 of us. FYI: The sofa-sleeper and chair-sleeper have the old fashion metal with thin padding. The sleepers are comfortable enough for kids but for adults they might be a little...lets say restless. Also, you get to full bathrooms too. :)

You pay a little more than the price for a moderate room but to me it was well worth the price. :D

If you decided on a moderate room, I believe the Caribbean Beach rooms are slightly bigger than any other moderate room.

Good Luck
