hot air balloons?

Has anyone had the experience of waking up very early and seeing all the hot air balloons over the Lake. 10 years ago we stayed at Polynesian and rode the monorail to the park for early entry and the balloons were allover, there were so many of them.

Does this still happen? When, how often?

Couldn't tell ya - I've never personally seen that. I HAVE seen hot air balloons during my stay before, but they were far off.

There is a company that offers the hot air balloon rides on or near Route 192. We stay at timeshare and see them EARLY every morning but I never see them drift over towards the Disney property, although they very well may and I've never seen it. Post 9/11, I doubt they allow them to float over the property anymore for obvious reasons.

Quite a few years back there was a HUGE Mickey balloon that I occasionally saw floating over Seven Seas Lagoon as well as Shamu from Seaworld. But I haven't seen those in ages!

yes, I recall the mickey balloon, as well as others were afloat over the lagoon.

Understandably, nowadays, they may be absent.

I will go to the photo albums, as I know I have a picture with alot of balloons at WDW.

I've seen them before. We rent a house in the Indian Creek subdivision right off 192 and the last trip I saw them. I don't have good experiences w/hot air balloons though. Softball nationals, hot air balloon, our team, over head, didn't get up high enough well you put it together!

we saw at least 10-12 balloons go up this past Nov. when we stayed at BW. but they were so far off, i couldn't tell if they were over Disney property or not. it sort of looked like they might have been, though.

i wish they showed up a little more clearly.
it was rather fun to stand out on the balcony and watch them float up; usually they came up two at a time.

btw, how the heck do i get my pic to show up on my post? i tried several different things, but nothing worked. what am i doing wrong? :veryconfu :hammer:
