horrid stay at allstar movie

First off....

I had an amazing time in Disney, time of my life as a matter of fact. But the experience in our hotel room was awful. Our shower head was broken. So me(6'1) had to bold the shower head up.... we called ans complained on day one, and it wasn't fixed until day 3.

Next, our room wasnt cleaned at all on day 4. My little one aways looks forward to seeing how they positioned her stuffed animals. So come 10pm, no beds made, no new towels..... very very disappointed foe the happiest place on earth. Guess we need to go broke and stay at the Polynesian or higher next time.

I am so sorry you had this experience in your hotel. I would certainly complain again and let them know that your stay was less than satisfactory.

Really? :brick:

Truth is, this could happen at a deluxe just as easily. It's all luck of the draw.

Sorry things didn't go well.

It's Disney. You're paying a premium even at a moderate. You get what you pay for.... sheesh!

I dont buy that at all. Disney prides itself on customer service. I would have gone down to the lobby and asked for the manager on duty and spoke to them about it. Id also call them and explain what your expierence was. Im willing to bet they will do something for you on the next trip maybe.

The best service I have ever had was a Carribean Beach when it was on a huge sale. I've stayed at Animal Kingdom and they didn't clean, and Beach Club... had issues there. One thing I can suggest is writing a letter to Disney and letting them know of your issues. Sometimes there is something they can do to make your next trip better. (You can go on the Disney website and sending an e-mail through the "contact" place.) I think they need to know about this because I do think they pride themselves on their service.

Frustrating. Were these the only two things wrong with your resort stay?

Only two things?!?! Does not make any difference. Complaints such as these get around and many, many, many people see and read these. It has an overall effect on future guests at the parks. Enough of these complaints will eventually cause park/resort attendance to be impacted. Repair shower head 3 days later.....!! should have been repaired while they were out of their room(s) the next day.

We had a bad experience there two years ago, stayed for two days. First room they sent us to wasn't even cleaned by the maids, so it took about 3 horus to get another room. I was hot tired and wanted a shower. We couldn't even use the bathroom it was gross. We complained in writing, on the phone, and no repsonses ever! I agree the rooms need updating too.

I'd blame the shower head problem on all the ding dongs who now bring their own shower heads to WDW, as the ones they have are apparently not good enough. Though I agree it shouldn't take 3 days to get it fixed.

The dirty room? I would have either called down and told them they somehow missed my room, or not cared. Them missing making my bed one day wouldn't have impacted my vacation at all. You can always call down and they will send more towels up if you don't want to wait for them to come and service your room.

If those are the only 2 things that were wrong, I'd have to say they were both small things and shouldn't have made your stay "horrid". And there is no guarantee neither thing would happen at a deluxe resort.

Same here. I don't expect a hotel to do anything more than what I do at home. Now that being said, I travel half the year for work anyway and don't want people in my room unless Im there to monitor what happens.

I guess its all perspective, I can certainly can understand that this whole incident might be horrid to some, but to me, its more inconvenient than horrid.

Really?? That's where you go with your comment? It's Disney. Even the Values are awesome. This could have happened at any of the deluxe resorts. Oh, wait, it has happened... to us at the Wilderness Lodge. We came back one time to find the room was not cleaned. It happens. It was probably the result of a simply oversight on the part of Mousekeeping and not someone just being lazy. And as for the shower head, in a resort situation like this there are going to be a ton of issues, daily. Prioritize them. A loose shower head takes a back seat to a broken toilet, or jammed door, or any number of other things that go wrong at hotels.

I think you may have misunderstood his comments. ;)

I had more problems at Pop (the one time I've stayed at Values) than I've had at mods or AKL. But I wouldn't try to generalize too much from that one stay at a Value. And I spoke up about the problems and was compensated for them very generously.

So sorry about your trip :(. The same thing with mousekeeping happened to me and my boyfriend when we stayed at All Star Sports in August. We would get back to our room at like 3/4PM and they hadn't been there yet and this happened like 3 days in a row. It wasn't a big deal for us we just stopped one of the maids outside and asked for more towels but I can see how you wanted your kids to see the towel creatures! Then on our departure day when we had time to sleep in they get there at 9AM  go figure. Eh hakuna matata.

Not so much. Please realize that life involves the odds of averages. You had a bad experience with the room because these things sometimes happen. The statement made by another member regarding you getting what you payed for does not necessarily apply to the circumstances of this case. I have stayed at All-Star hotels several times over the years, and I have experienced a total of one bad stay. The problem with any law of averages involving public service lies in the fact that a provider services thousands, while a consumer can only enjoy their one experience. A thousand people may eat a good meal at a particular restaurant, but there is bound to be one customer who receives a piece of steak that is overcooked. In other words, Disney dropped the ball with (theoretically) one customer out of thousands, but you did not go to the hotel thousands of times, it was your one and unique stay. Consequently, it is highlighted in a greater way for you. It stinks, because proper management should make certain that every customer is satisfied, but it happened. I'm sorry that it did, and I hope that your next stay goes well.
