Horizons - Martins Complete Ultimate Tribute

This video is the next best thing to riding the attraction in the 80's.

I can't say how much I love this! I love Horizons, but I had never seen the concept blueprints for the original GE attraction. Incredible! I know I might be biased because of my love for Horizons, but this might be @marni1971 magnum opus.
Martin allows you to see the whole film of each segment, a feat that would require multiple rides before the Historian gave us this gift. I am amazed at the detail. I even saw a shadow in the space scene for the 1st time that helps tell the story.

This video also has some of my favorite stills from the ride. The future from the 50's point of view with shots of the Art Deco neon future are great! It makes me miss the ride so much!

I think this is the best video you've put out to date, Martin. I thought the tribute at the very end to Chief was a nice touch.

It's highly unlikely I ever rode Horizons (was only 1 when it closed), so this is definitely the next best thing.

My 13 yr old DD and I were treated last night when we turned on YouTube and saw Martin's upload from yesterday. LOVED IT!!!!! What a wonderful job Martin. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication on documenting past and present Disney rides.

Edit: and your hidden Martinisms posts on here, giving us glimpse of future Disney projects:)

Thank you for another great video. The ride really was EPCOT "Mission Statement."

I particularly love all the time you put into explaining the actual mechanics and layout of these attractions. As I kid I would always exit the attraction, then immediately turn around and try and figure how all that fit in the building.

I did some poking around the internet and was wondering what happened to the ride system and vehicles as they had been seen being driven away and the rumor was they were sold off to another country. I was wondering if it was re-purposed somewhere, but it seems they were eventually destroyed as well. Do you have any details on this.

Just finished it, a real masterpiece beginning to end. I especially enjoy when Martin draws the ride path through blueprints. I don't know how he does it, but the effect really gives me a sense of the ride.

Now I have question: What happened to that beautiful mural??

@marni1971 - I just watched this this morning and it nearly brought me to tears. It brought back so many memories of the Epcot my family and I fell in love with back in the 80's, when we'd gladly wait in line in eager anticipation of the wondrous experiences that lay ahead in each pavilion. I couldn't help but think that if only the "powers-that-be" now had the creativity and originality that made Epcot Center such a magnificent park back then, we wouldn't have so many complaints here on the forums. Thanks so much for keeping those dreams alive!

Seriously though, did they just trash that mural or was it moved?
