Since a majority of the movie will probably be set in the animal world I don't think it'll make much difference.

Also what did you expect, this movie has been in development for a few years. So its not like they were going to change animation styles mid-stream.

Gato will have a different animation style, so you have that to look forward to.
I'm definitely looking forward to Gato. Pixar just needs to finish cleaning the pipeline with this movie.

I think there is a place for this type of animation style, as it likely has its fans, you just happen to not be one of them.
I'm not a fan of ugly simplistic animation.

However K-Pop Demon Hunters from Sony Animation is pretty incredible. It's like Sony and Pixar traded places.

And yet the masses seem to eat up the simple animation used by Illumination. So it’s not all about complex animation to many. We’ll see how this one turns out in 8 months.

For me it comes mostly down to art style. If it comes down to I'm not sure if I want to see something in theaters. A compelling art style or animation style can sway me.

I don’t quite understand why anyone even cares. The design hasn’t bothered me 🤷🏻‍♂️
Do you remember when it seemed like every other movie had a tint to it? Or when action movies decided that handheld camerawork could make scenes feel more intense? They're stylistic choices and they work for some people and not for others - or some movies and not others. I think it's like that with animation style.
