Hoping for no puke on the way to Disney! PTR 5/8-16n **Reposting**

So I’ve become a bit obsessed with going to Disney World these past two years. I used to be a former CM, worked in NYC, & only got to go twice while working for them (man I miss the discounts!!!)…and yet in this past year and half I’ve gone twice & will be back at the world in 29 day! ::INSERT HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY DANCE::

Here is the background story on this trip. First I should introduce myself and my lovely family

My name is Rose...i am 26. I have been a Disney lover since i was about 6 and my mom took me to see Little Mermaid! =D This became my favorite movie. I always loved all the Disney movies, characters. This led me to even work for Disney for about 4 years. I worked at the Disney Stores! My wonderful hubby, Mike is amazing & puts up with my Disney Obsessed moods! He is more into Japanese culture and Anime however....I got him to LOVE Disney on our first trip! =D We have been together for 4 1/2 years, Married for 3 and have a beautiful son Mikey Jr who is almost 2 1/2. He is the most amazing boy! He is funny and goofy and hard headed and strong! & he LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and he calls Mickey, Pooka! I don’t know how he came up with that name…he started calling him that when he was a bit over one & it has stuck! (Very fun time explaining who that was everything he said Pooka while we were at Disney last time!)

Here’s my hubby, son and myself in front of the Castle!

Now I have been to Disney 5 times. The first time when I was 15 back in 98. I don't remember too much about that trip, it was a short weekend in the middle of summer. All i know is that it was Hot! lol. I then went in 2005 with my younger sister who was 15 at the time her best friend and our cousin. We went for about 5 days...again smack in the middle of summer. Lines were long, it was too hot but over all we had a pretty good time. The 3rd time happened to be my hubby's FIRST time to Disney World! We went for a quick weekend. Spent about 3 days there, and had a blast! He fell in love with everything Disney! & Those were the only two trips I had as a Disney CM!

Fast forward to late 2008, I was already married to my hubby and our son had just turned one! I got an email announcing Disney pay 4 get 3 free deal & a $200 gift card! Our son would be 1 1/2 for when I wanted to go. I started crunching numbers and figuring out how much it would cost us and our first Family trip to Disney was booked! We stayed at Pop from March 1 - March 7, did every park twice with the exception of AK. My son LOVED it. We loved that he loved it. I cried when he saw Mickey for the first time...actually I cried with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, goofy and Pluto!!:cry::cry: lol. It was so great to see him hug and kiss his favorite characters! Then again I cried when three Princesses kissed him and called him their Prince! I am a sap! but can you blame me! We had a blast & he behaved better then expected! Overall this trip was a complete Success! Minus being puked :headache::confused3on by my son the plane. Thank goodness it wasn't that bad...and he got a lot of it in a bag!! Well puke aside…when we got home we started planning for a 2nd trip.

A few months passed THEN i heard about FREE DINING!!! OMG! Free Food! I"d actually get to try some of the other restaurants Disney has!! Up until now I had only done Crystal Palace and Tusker House! So this was very exciting. So i started once again crunching numbers, trying to see where we'd stay, how long, & when we would go. My son's birthday is in October and I thought what better thing to celebrate at Disney then your birthday! Especially when turning 2! However I didn't want to spend his actual birthday there so we went a week before his birthday. & my younger sister came with us, now we were going end of sept beginning of october...and she had just gone to Disney with our aunt and uncle in May for memorial day weekend! Huge mistake!! Well for me at least. They live in Miami and have gone to Disney a gazillion times. Well she said she had a horrible time! It was hot, and crowded...& my aunt, uncle and cousin would head to the parks at noon and wanted to leave by 5, she said the lines were ridiculous. Needless to say I needed to show her Disney....& that I did! She enjoyed our trip to the full!! So that made me proud! Well with free dining we got to try out many different places. We ate at Le Cellier =D, 50's Prime Time, Sci Fi Drive In, Chef Mickeys, Tutto Italia & Crystal Palace. Over all our experience with Free dining was great! We only had one major issue with our first reservation…we had Dinner at Crystal Palace at 9pm…well they must have either overbooked or were really backed up but we sat down for our 9pm reservation at 10:30!!!! I will say this that even with the wait the CM were really great in trying to keep everyone happy. They were handing out Itzakadozie (not sure about spelling!) & water to everyone. Then I was a little upset that we were so rushed inside due to the fact that it was almost their closing time by the time we sat down to eat. Aside from that the only other downside to this was the weather!! WOW was it hot! I honestly was not anticipating it to be as hot as it was. However on the plus side we enjoyed the pool a lot! And again this trip was another huge success! Now my only other issue was how the trip started! Oh and I forgot to mention on the way to Disney my beautiful son PUKED on me again:hurl: And this time it was A LOT worse! I had to go to the bathroom and basically wash my pants and put them on WET! I smelled like puke until we finally got off the plane and I bought a pair of sweats! & That is where my name comes into play! This time he will have his OWN seat…and I hope he doesn’t puke!! Lol & if he does i hope it doesn't all land on me!

Now before we booked this trip I was really going back and forth as to whether we should go or not and if we did when would we go! We were either going to take advantage of the % off the resorts & stay at the Moderate (we’ve only every stayed in Values…all of them!) or we could wait for the fall to see if they were doing Free Dining again. Finally somewhere in the middle of March I decided that we would go in May! I checked airfare, hotel price and came up with May 8 – 16, which meant I would be spending Mother’s Day at Disney World! =D & We would experience the Flower & Garden Festival. See I had come up with a plan that every trip to the world we did I wanted to see something new. Our first trip didn’t really have any special events, however during our 2nd trip we got to experience the Food and Wine Festival & do MNSSHP & see MK decorated for Halloween. So going during the F&GF is great!! I was trying to stay at a Moderate Resort to give ourselves an upgrade! & with the percentage off it was adding up to a very decent total…but then I read about how some people were getting PINS for Free QSDP! So what I did was I booked us at Pop (We loved Pop the last time we were there! I’m an 80;s kid & was glad to be in the 80’s building) with an 8 day MYW basic ticket. We really don’t do park hopping…with a 2.5 year old & a stroller I’d rather stick the day in one park…and we don’t do the water parks since he’s still little and we’ll spend most of the time in the lazy river or pool & we can do that in the resort. If we got the pin I’d see what saved us more the % off or the Free DP….and then make the changes. If we didn’t get the PIN by the 45 day mark…we would then add the QSDP to our ressie and pay for it…which was our original plan before hearing about the PIN. I had done some math using the prices at ALLEARS.net on their menus….and with the DP we’d be saving at least $300! Well 3 days before our 45 day mark I received and email with the PIN! First thing I did when I got home was get on the phone with Disney! A very helpful CM did the math more me & told me that if I kept the current reservation at POP and added the Free dining that it would save a total of $392! So we were set! Free QSD!!! I went during Free Dining in October last year…and it was GREAT! We got to experience so many restaurants that we wouldn’t have done OOP…at least not with our son! With a toddler…having to constantly wait for your ADR time was a bit of a pain…sometimes our son wouldn’t be hungry, or he’d be napping etc. So I think the QSDP will be better in that we can eat when we want. I still made three reservations all for breakfast! We have Cape May Café 5/9 for Mother’s Day breakfast! We did Rainforest Café on 5/12 for our only day at AK and Crystal Palace on our last day which will be spent at MK! (We must start and end at MK!!) All reservations are for Breakfast...reason being my son is a bit more well behaves early in the morning after having slept! lol. Setting up a set time for Dinner may not work out if he's cranky or sleeping.

Here is our Itinerary:

5/8 – Our flight leaves at 7:20! We are set to land at MCO at 10:05am. This means a very early morning for us…we have to be up at like 4am and be out by 5:30! I plan on having my son sleep in his travel clothes….that way we can just pick him up put him in stroller and leave! Hopefully we’ll get to the ME and load pretty quickly! II’m hoping to be at the hotel and checked in by noon. If our room is ready we’ll head over to it and relax a bit…unpack…& maybe get Mikey to take a nap (depending on whether he sleeps on the flight or not & hopefully no puke!) Then head out to MK & have lunch somewhere in the park. We’ll stay for a few hours and then jump on the Monorail to whichever resort & take a bus to DTD! We’ll be having dinner at Bongos. Now I know Bongos has gotten some bad reviews…& I ate there about 5 years ago & enjoyed it very much. I’m Cuban so I’m used to eating their type of food a lot & although it didn’t meet my mom’s cooking it was bad. Now since then I’m not sure if it’s changed a lot but we’ll find out. DH is dying to eat there! Now if the room isn’t ready when we check in, we’ll head to the Food Court and have lunch there & hope that the room is available by the time we’re done eating. If not we’ll leave our stuff with bell services and head to MK

5/9 – MOTHER’S DAY! We have an 8:45am reservation at Cape May Café! I’ve never been to the Disney Boardwalk so we plan on doing a bit of exploring after breakfast. I know to get there from POP I was told to take the Bus to DHS and then the boat or walk. Someone else mentioned that since I have a reservation there’s busses that pick up guests to take them to their meals…not sure if this is accurate. Well after breakfast it’s off to MK for the day. We’ll be taking a break at one point to head back to the room & take a swin or a nap and then head back to MK later on…they are open till 1am!

5/10 – DHS – Hit TSM as soon as we get there…do the shows. Not sure where we should eat. Does anyone recommend any QS places here? If not I was thinking of heading to the Boardwalk and do Beaches and Cream or Pizza Planet ( a must this trip! My son LOVES it!)

5/11 – EPCOT – Ok..so the other part of my title is ride Soaring! I’ve only been on this ride once….and that was 5 years ago! Ugh! I want to ride it so badly again! The last two times we kept missing it. First trip we were just tired and cranky so I gave away our FP to a family I saw walking into the park. 2nd time the same thing happened! One day and then the 2nd day the wait time was too long and they had no FP! So I’m really hoping to ride Soaring again!!

5/12 – AK – Breakfast at Rainforest Café…then going to try to do the FotLK haven’t had the chance to see it…and then Nemo which we loved last time! EE a must for me, hubby doesn’t do coasters & Kali river Rapids, Safari…the usual! For lunch we’re not sure yet…& for dinner we’ll head to DTD and try Wulfgang Puck…I heard you can use CS points here!

5/13 – DHS – Nothing planned

5/14 – EPCOT – Nothing planned

5/15 – MK – Last day! =( Try to do as much as possible! Call it an early night to head back and pack!

5/16 – Home! We have a VERY early flight! 7am…so we’ll be boarding the ME at like 4am!

My next dilenma came when figuring out how to send some snacks and stuff to our room. I first considered using GardenGrocer...but some of their stuff is pricey...and for the amount of stuff I was ordering I was spend double of what I can get some of these items for. Then I though well, we can take a cab to publix...but that would defeat the whole trying to save money since we'd have to pay for a cab! Finally after using the UPS at work which we get a discount on...i checked how much it would cost to ship for example 10lbs...and it came up to 8 bucks! So at the end of the day....my plan is to ship stuff out a week before we leave. I'll be shipping cereal, cereal bars, applesauce, some fruit bars my son loves, cookies, some instant Mac & Cheese...my son is a picky eater and wont always eat the Mac & Cheese he gets in restaurants...so this will be used as emergencys when he hasn't eaten!, some candy snacks...and then once we get there we'll go to the Hess Station for water.

***I'm open to ideas of where to eat CS at each park!! I've looked online and have seen menus, but I want opinions of the food of people that have eaten there!*** I'm thinking of Cosmic Rays, Sunshine Seasons, Flame Tree BBQ....can't seem to come up with any at DHS....i was thinking of the days we are there to head to the Boardwalk and go to Beaches & Cream?

So there you have it! I’ll try to add pics of the autograph book I’m working on!

Pics of Autograph Book

So this trip I decided to make my son his very own autograph book!:ROFLOL:I'm very proud of the way it's coming out. My husband was able to make me the book at work....they have binding machines so he took card stock, cut it up for me to the size i wanted and bound it! SO now my job is to decorate!:D

Picture0462.jpg

That's the cover!

Picture0465.jpg

This is the back cover

Picture0470.jpg

This is what the autograph pages will look like. Then on the blank page I am leaving...i'll stick pictures of him with the characters when we come back and it'll be his scrapbook!

What a wonderful pre-trip report! Sounds like you have everything planned out. Shipping UPS is a great idea. I used to pack all the food/drinks in my luggage (under the plane) but now most airlines charge $25 per bag it's better to use UPS!

I love Cosmic Rays, it's one of our favorite places to eat on property for CS.

Have a wonderful time and I can't wait to read your TR when you get back.

Do you give your son Gravol (anti-nausea medicaction) before you fly? Sounds like he suffers from motion sickness!?! Give it to him about a half an hour before you fly and he should be fine!

Also, do you really need to send snacks to the resort? The QSD plan is a lot of food and snacks... but maybe if your son is a picky eater then it's necessary, I guess!?!

I really like Flame Tree BBQ... I get the chicken and then some of that sweet and spicy BBQ sauce on the condiment stand! Mmmmmm! :slurp:
Sunshine Seasons is good too - lots of choice! We also really like Yakitori House in Japan - the teriyaki chicken is delicious (my son even licks it up). Can't really help you with any suggestions for DHS... we have a hard time ourselves finding good CS there. We usually end up eating at Pizza Planet!

On Mother's Day... if the buses haven't started running yet, yes, they will arrange transportation for you to get you to your ADR. Check with the desk in your resort the day before. Also, can I ask why you're going to MK that day... it would seem more convienent to go to DHS or Epcot as you're right next door to both. Maybe you want to be at MK for Mother's Day!?!

You have a cutie little boy there. Hope you have a wonderful vacation!

(I like your autograph book too - good job!)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for no puking! And to add another recommendation for combating motion sickness, my mom has always given me Dramamine. It seems to work pretty well. I would also recommend not allowing your son to scarf down a bunch of mini Three Musketeers Bars just before take off (what were you thinking, Mom?), as it didn't help me much when I was little. :lookaroun

My family loves the Columbia Harbour House in MK and the Flame Tree Barbecue in AK.

Your homemade autograph book is totally awesome! Well done. Your son should get Mickey to sign it "Pooka". :D

Hope you and your family have a great time on your trip!

Great pre-TR...sounds like you have things planned out pretty well! Some of my favorite counter service restaurants are Flame Tree, Electric Umbrella, Pecos Bills (mmmm, toppings bar), and Pizza Planet (surprisingly good pizza, imo).

Oh, and I LOVE your autograph book! What a great way to get yourself excited for the trip, and to have such a special book of memories for your son. Such a great idea!

Can't wait to see your TR :)

My DS threw up on the airplane on our last Disneyland trip. This trip we have a strict no Burger King before the flight rule. We are also using Dramamine! My mom gave it to us as kids for motion sickness and it worked. It has the added bonus of making children very sleepy so that might make the plane ride more enjoyable too ;)

Thanks for all the replys!!! HIIII!!! And welcome! I'm going to update as much as possible before our trip with any changes that come up. & will TRY very hard to update from our trip!

Thanks! Yes with a 2.5 year old I try to have to everything as planned as possible before we leave this way we don't look like chickens with no head when were there. I think these luggage charges, and now carry on charges are getting out of control! What next!! Are they going to charge us to breathe their recycled air!! We've never had Cosmic Rays in all the times we've gone and their menu seems good so we are definitely going to try them out.

You know the funny thing is he rides in cars, busses and trains (we live in NYC) and never has gotten sick...we go to Disney & twice i get puked on:hurl:...what are the chance:eek:s! lol. Thanks so much for this...i am going to give it a try & hopefully we'll have a puke free flight! Cross your fingers!

Also, do you really need to send snacks to the resort? The QSD plan is a lot of food and snacks... but maybe if your son is a picky eater then it's necessary, I guess!?

You said it!! Picky eater! He only eats the chewy Chips Ahoy cookies & only eats fruit loops & the Motts Applesauce! So for him we have to ship some stuff out...and i'm also going to send a long his diapers and wipes (we're in the process of potty training and it's not going good! Any moms or dads reading this i am open to ALL and ANY advice!)

I really like Flame Tree BBQ... I get the chicken and then some of that sweet and spicy BBQ sauce on the condiment stand! Mmmmmm! :slurp:

DHS is the hardest place to find something to eat in!! They need to liven up their CS options! Sunshine Seasons is on our list. Ohhh we love chicken teryaki. Adding Yakitori House to my list! Thanks!

On Mother's Day... if the buses haven't started running yet, yes, they will arrange transportation for you to get you to your ADR. Check with the desk in your resort the day before. Yeah....It'll be our first full day...and even though we are heading to MK the day before for a few hours we make it Tradition for our first FULL day to be at MK, plus it's Mother's Day & I figured what better place to spend it in! I will ask at the front desk the second we check in I'll ask them about this. It would be great if we didn't have to travel to a resort then to the restaurant.

You have a cutie little boy there. Hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Thank you!!!!

(I like your autograph book too - good job!) Thanks! :sohappy:

I have to check on the Dramamine...to see if it's ok for his age. My younger brother was prone to motion sickness when he was younger. My mom never left the house with out it! Yeah...the mini Three Musketeers would do that to you! lol. & it sucks getting sick on an airplane...only so many places you can go too! I'm going to try to feed him at the house before we head out...and hope he's ok once we board.

My family loves the Columbia Harbour House in MK and the Flame Tree Barbecue in AK.

I keep hearing good things about Flame Tree & I've heard good things too from Columbia Harbour....gotta show hubby all these menus!
Your homemade autograph book is totally awesome! Well done. Your son should get Mickey to sign it "Pooka". :D

OMG i never thought of that...I may ask if he can! Thanks. You know i saw a thread on the boards here and got the idea to one. For his first trip it was a must to get him the actual Disney one...but to have three of them seems unnecessary so I decided on this and in the end I hope to make a cool scrapbook

Hope you and your family have a great time on your trip! Thanks!!!

Great pre-TR...sounds like youWe' have things planned out pretty well! Some of my favorite counter service restaurants are Flame Tree, Electric Umbrella, Pecos Bills (mmmm, toppings bar), and Pizza Planet (surprisingly good pizza, imo).

Toppings bar....so this is one of the places that have that! Ok Pecos Bill it is!!! I always read about them...yet never see them. I LOVE pizza planet.....I don't know if it's just me but their pizza IMO tastes better then in any other place in Disney! We've had nothing but great experiences here. A CM even gave my son a Toy Story collectors cup our first trip with him.

Oh, and I LOVE your autograph book! What a great way to get yourself excited for the trip, and to have such a special book of memories for your son. Such a great idea!

Thanks! I figured this would be a great way for him to look back on this trip and see what he did. He may not remember this vacation...but in a few years he can see all his pictures and autographs.

Can't wait to see your TR :)

Yeah the last time we flew & he threw up we had given him Pretzel Sticks & apple juice, so none of that this time! That whole him sleeping may be a very good thing after all!

Just to let you know... Dramamine and Gravol are the same thing... Dimenhydrinate (it's marketed under different names)! It is safe for a child 2 years old. Gravol makes a dissolvable/chewable version for children here in Canada... not sure what you have in the US (as over-the-counter drugs do differ between Canada and the US). You can usually get a liquid as well... if you child would prefer that. It is wise to give it to them about a half an hour before getting on the plane, car, etc.

Just b/c you child doesn't get motion sickness in other ways, doesn't mean he's not prone to motion sickness. My daughter gets sick in a car but is fine on a plane! They're all different. It is also important to not have an empty stomach. Of course, heavy and fatty foods aren't a wise choice but it is good to have something in their stomach. A banana is a good choice!

Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on about this... hopefully you have a successful flight the next time!

What a great pre-trip report!
My family enjoys Pinocchio Village Haus in MK. They have pretty good pizza, salads, and last Sept. they had a nice meatball parm hero.
My husband is going to give ginger pills a try for his motion sickness on our next trip and see if they work, you'd have to check with your Doctor as I don't know if they would be ok for a 2 yr. old. Also, he doesn't watch TV or read on the plane, he just listens to music.
Hope you have a magical time...

Thanks for the info on them having it in some form of Liquid. I was going to call his doctor to see if there was anything she can prescribe that liquid form. I know he WILL NOT eat it...he won't even the gummy CARS Vitamins! Picky eater...gets that from me! :lookaroun

I'm going to have to try to give him fruit that morning. We've eaten at Pinocchio Village Haus a few times...only problem was we found it to always be crowded! I had those Ginger candies when I was pregnant with my son. I know you mentioned pills..are these prescribed from a a doctor? I tried this all natural organic Ginger Candies. I suffered from morning sickness for all 9 months! They worked for a bit...but then THEY ended up giving me morning sickness! lol. But tell your husband to try them out...they're good.

Thinking about the trip =D

We are currently at 26 days! The more the days pass the further away the trip seems! So i have LOT'S of family in Florida...Miami to be exact. Now every time I go to Disney they get mad saying I go to Disney but not to visit them blah blah blah. So i called up one of my aunts and told her about it...so now she is thinking of driving up with my little cousin, she's 9 and loves my son & is dying to see him & either my grandma or my uncle. She said she would drive up on Friday after my cousin gets out of school, stay of property, and stay Saturday & Sunday and drive back Monday. GREAT idea...she even suggested picking us up at the airport. Another great idea. It would save me the hassle of shipping stuff out there, when she can take us to a target or walmart or whatever is near we can buy what's needed. Wipes, diapers, snacks for my son & maybe even go to the mall...OUTLET anyone? :D And then go check in. If this happens my plans may change a bit. We're still going to do MK saturday and Sunday. But if we do the mall, we'll be getting to the park a bit later, so we will probably end up eating at MK and not DTD. The next morning we will still keep the Cape May reservation...however whether they are coming or not is up to them. Then we'll head to MK for the day! Since my cousin is 9, MK will be perfect for her, she's been before...and FINALLY has gotten over her fear of characters. It'll be cool to have her and my son get on the rides together. So then these two days i'll try to spend as much time with them and come Monday maybe we'll go have breakfast together before they depart. They'll only get a two day Florida resident ticket for Sat/Sun.

Now i am not planning on this. Each time i previously went to Disney i had her and my other aunt say the same thing. and in the end they ended up not coming...so for now i won't hold my breathe...however it would be totally cool if they did drive up to spend the weekend with us! :D

So this past weekend I did a bit more shopping for the trip. Got all three of us a few shorts, hubby got a pair of sneakers, & i got a few shirts at Old Navy. I plan on going over all the clothes we bought this week and making sure we're done with shopping and pack up everything. I know we still have over 3 weeks to go but I would really like that last week before we leave to be somewhat relaxing. We both work and I don't really want to get home everyday and go nuts with the packing. I would like to be able to take one day and all get hair cuts, then I need a day to go get my nails done & a pedi, & of course eyebrows. Then friday I'd like to just relax...get any last minute things together & clean up the apt....I have to leave it clean to come back to a clean home and early bedtime! So hopefully by this weekend I can finish buying anything else that I need and hopefully by the following weekend I can pack up everything and then just go nuts counting down!!

Well that's my mini update for today! :D ( I should get back to work now:lookaroun)

So these past few days I've been doing a bit of research on the Menus at WDW! I would like a plan as to where we are going to be eating this way we don't waste time looking at what's on the map and checking out what they have. This way we know where we're going...or I know where we going and hubby just has to follow!

For breakfast and lunch we're going to pretty much stick to the itinerary. Aside from the days we have reservations for actual breakfast, we're either going to share a CS meal the resort or use snack points for bagels etc. For my son we'll get him cereal & milk or pancakes/waffles...he's not much of an egg and bacon eater. When it comes to dinner it may change depending on whether we stay in the park or go to the resort or DTD.

May 8 B - At the aiport
L - Resort if our room isn't ready, Casey's Corner if our room is ready
D - Bongos. Now if my aunt ends up coming we'll eat in MK - Pinocchio Haus
May 9 Magic Kingdom
B - Cape May Cafe
L - Cosmic Rays
D - Pecos Bill or Resort
May 10 DHS
B - Snack at resort
L - Pizza Planet
D - Beaches & Cream
May 11 EPCOT
B - Bakery in France
L - not sure
D - Sunshine Season
May 12 Animal Kingdom
B - Rainforest Cafe
L - Flame Tree BBQ
D - DTD...Wolfgang Puck
May 13 DHS
B - Breakfast at DTD
L - Pizza Planet
D - Resort
May 14 EPCOT
B - Snack at Resort
L - Electrick Umbrella
D - I'd like to eat at Mexico...we'll see how that goes.
May 15 Magic Kingdom
B - Crystal Palace
L - Cosmic Rays
D - Resort
May 16 B - Depends if we have any snack points the night before we'll get a few things we can eat in the morning. If not we'll eat at the airport.

So there you have it folks...my eating itinerary! Just a bit OCD :lookaroun

24 days left! Just a little over 3 weeks! Yay

A couple more votes for Flame Tree BBQ and Cosmic Rays (the latter being my favorite QS restaurant in WDW...toppings bar & Sonny Eclipse!). I also see you have Sunshine Seasons on the list--good call.

My only suggestions would be possibly to rethink Rainforest Cafe and Wolfgang Puck. Maybe they don't have these two restaurants anywhere near you, but they're something you could try in many major cities and don't seem especially "Disney" to me. Then again, to each his (or her) own--I'm sure you'll have fun regardless!

Thanks! Gives me some relief to know that some of the places have decent food choices. That's my main problem...more so with my son. He's become a bit of picky eater...so the fact that I can get chicken and pizza in most of these places is a great thing since he seems to love both!

I live in NYC...and the closes Rainforest Cafe for us is in Atlantic City...so we won't be taking our son there anytime soon. We've done Tusker House in AK the past two times & had a great time, food was great, had GREAT character interaction & I originally had a reservation for this but replaced it with Rainforest to try something different and see if our son enjoys it. We are going to have two other Character Meals...so decided to change it up a bit.
As for Wolfgang Puck...none in the NYC area that I know off....and again they have one in Atlantic City. So I figured why not try them out while on vacation....even though they don't have that Disney Magical theme or feeling to them. Hopefully they don't disappoint.

BTW - I love your honeymoon pre trip report!!!!

I'm in the teeenss!!!!

Yay! I am now 18 days away!:sohappy::ROFLOL::D

I'm done shopping as far as clothes go. I still need a few misc things...but those are things i'm going to ship to the resort...and they're more of snacks for my son & diapers/wipes! I gave up the hope of having him Potty Trained by the trip! He flat out refuses! We finally got him to wear underwear...and he peed all over the place:brick: I had no idea how hard this task was going to be! I'll tell him he's a big boy and has to wear undies...and he very sternly tells me he's a little one & he has to wear diapers! This is coming from a 2.5 year old!! So I have to pack diapers/wipes! & i'd rather ship them and have more space in my suitcase! Well since we've been talking up Disney to him...when you ask him where we are going on vacation he very proudly says "Dizzy World to see Pooka (AKA Mickey) & the castle"! :sohappy: Makes me proud!

Something I wanted to do this trip is the Chip & Dale Campfire. Has anyone done this? Do you recommend it? Also I want to watch the Water Parade...can anyone recommend a good place to view this from? and what time is this usually done?

I'm hoping to have my full itinerary by next week...& I'd like to plan a few things we've never done that my son will enjoy.

Thanks!
