Hopefully I'm closer to my happily ever after- August 2012 TR

It's about time I started my Trip Report since unfortunately I got back August 26th.

Here is the link to my pre-trip report

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/hopefully-another-short-forest-august-pre-trip-report.840289/

So this trip took an interesting turn, as you see if you read my PTR I went with my boyfriend of 2 years. I graduated in May and this summer I had been taking an intense graduate program to get my Masters in Financial Accounting. I took 5 classes in about 2 months so it was very time consuming and required a lot of work. The program ended August 10th so the end of July and the beginning of August I had to concentrate on finishing up my classes. This also meant a lot less time to be around my boyfriend which led to things falling apart. On Wednesday in Disney we ended up breaking up. Yes it was upsetting but I will admit that I was ready for it and nothing would stop me from enjoying my Disney vacation, I just love it there. The rest of the vacation ended up going better than the beginning and we got along a lot better (I guess the stress was gone).

So that is the reasoning to my TR title, hopefully I am closer to my happily ever after! The guy who is right for me will definitely have to share my love for Disney and as Walt said "Keep moving forward."

I hope you have stayed with me because I have a lot of photos to share!

So the flight was at 8:35am out of Philly and we landed early in Orlando at 10:48am and made our way to Disney's Magical Express!

IMG_1156.jpg

We didn't have to wait long and it was a nice half hour ride to the All Star Resorts! We arrived at All Star Music and I was really happy I did the online check in because regular check in had a huge wait and I didn't have to wait to get my packet. I had requested the Jazz Inn or close to transportation because last year we were in the Country Inn like the farthest building and that was really annoying. We didn't get Jazz Inn but we did get my favorite themed area at All Star Music!

IMG_1166.jpg

IMG_1167.jpg

Our room was ready so that's always good!

IMG_1162.jpg

Our room was good, it was all we needed, but our television remote didn't work and our bathroom light had this really creepy flicker whenever it turned on that reminded me of the Tower of Terror haha.

IMG_1164.jpg

I love this picture! We were really tired because we both had to be up at like 4:30am because we are hour and a half away from the airport but of course I was ready to go, I went to the hotel food court and we got a bacon cheeseburger to split and we then planned on going to Beaches and Cream!

IMG_1168.jpg

IMG_1170.jpg

Beauty and the Beast is close to the top of my list of my favorite Disney movies!

IMG_1172.jpg
To get to Beaches and Cream we took the bus to Hollywood Studios so that we could take my favorite form of Disney transportation! (besides the monorail)
IMG_1177-001.jpg
Boats of course!

So sorry about the break-up (it just seems WRONG that it could happen at Disney) but glad it was a friendly one and y'all could still enjoy your trip. Love your pics and report!

I love the scenery on the boat!

IMG_1180.jpg

IMG_1180-001.jpg
I love playing around with the camera settings and editing settings!
IMG_1181.jpg
I also happen to be one of the people who love the swan and dolphin and I love the design of the hotels even though they are a little out of place and I still find that they have the magical whimsy of Disney! My family has stayed there twice and the fact that we are so close to the Boardwalk and EPCOT and Hollywood Studios keeps us close to the magic! The rooms are gorgeous and luxurious as well :)

IMG_1182.jpg

So we got off the Yacht and Beach Club resort and tried to find Beaches and Cream because I have never been there! We walked up to one of the pearl jewelry stands I think it was and I asked the woman and she looked at me like I was crazy! haha but luckily the man who also worked there knew what we were looking for and we had to walk this roundabout way because of the pool. We finally found Beaches and Cream and we were contemplating getting the kitchen sink and although it would be cool to say we tried it, its just the two of us and we will no way come close to finishing so it really didn't make sense. So instead we both got the...

IMG_1184.jpg

Yes the No Way Jose!
IMG_1185.jpg

Oh it was delicious!

IMG_1190.jpg

So we were contemplating on what to do next and we were planning on going to Hollywood Studios later that evening because that is the park that had EMH so we decided to walk to EPCOT!
IMG_1192.jpg
IMG_1193.jpg
The Boardwalk is soo pretty! Reminds me of home at the Jersey Shore hahaha
IMG_1194.jpg
But much classier of course! haha
IMG_1195.jpg
I love the wildlife at Disney! and Bunnies are just soo cute! Thumper is one of my favorite characters! Entering in the International Gateway is just so awesome! its a lot quieter and not as busy- love it.
IMG_1196.jpg
IMG_1197.jpg
Soo we decided to head towards...
IMG_1199.jpg
Canada! I don't really know what the reasoning was but it was just really hot and humid out that I think we just wanted to go somewhere air conditioned. Neither of us remembered what the circle vision movie was like but we decided to try it, David is a big hockey fan so it kind of fit. I am also a small part Canadian, apparently we have family up there.
IMG_1200.jpg
IMG_1201.jpg
I love how detailed the countries are, you can't see it until you walk far into them, I really want to do more exploring of the countries, I can't wait to go back with my mom and sister.
IMG_1204-001.jpg
IMG_1203-001.jpg
So the movie was cool, made me dizzy at times but I'm glad I did it, made me want to go see Canada, I almost did one year when Rutgers was playing their football Bowl game in the International Bowl which is in Toronto. After that we decided to head toward Soarin' to check the line- obviously bad idea, the line was super long we got in it for a couple of minutes but when David realized there is no cell service in there we had to leave! We decided to go for a ride on Living with the Land! Front seats yay! I took some pictures. Some are boring I know but still fun to do!
IMG_1206.jpg
IMG_1208.jpg
This 20 images rule is really annoying! I wish they tell me to stop putting images in instead of telling me when I'm ready to post! oh well

IMG_1224.jpg
I don't know much about planting or farming but the sustainable stuff they talk about is really cool and interesting! I would like to do the behind the seeds tour sometime with my family, my dad and sister would be very interested in it.

YAY a TR!! Booo for breaking up in Disney :( But Disney helps with the break up blues... I broke up with my bf the night before we left back in 2006. I cried the whole way to the airport and on the plane (part of that was by my own doing.. listening to songs that reminded me of him on my iPod. So dumb of me! lol) but once we got there, I forgot all about him and had a great time! So I'm glad the end of the trip went well :)

Love the pics! And isn't the No Way Jose at BNC sooo yummy! I think we're gonna try and tackle the Kitchen Sink in May when it's me, my mom, my sister, aunt and 2 cousins! I think we can demolish most of it!

Loving your TR. Sorry about the break up - but glad you were able to make the best out of it and have a less stressful trip.

Your pictures of Beaches n Cream makes me want to head there in a week to try the No Way Jose - even if we have to pay OOP for it!

And I love your Living with the Land pictures - I really love that ride. I don't know what it is about it but it very much makes me feel "IN DISNEY" ya know?

Glad to see someone else agrees that Disney helps with the breakup! I mean nothing is better than being at a place with a ton of distractions during the worst and most horrible days of a breakup! and I get the your own fault thing, I tend to think about things over and over and that upsets me lol.

Thanks! this is my new camera so I was really excited to try it out! No Way Jose is sooo good and seeing your pics from your other TR made me want to go so thank you for that! Trying the kitchen sink will be so fun! good luck! :)

I'm glad you're liking it, I'm loving the support from everyone but yeah I was in a good mindset!

I would definitely recommend going to Beaches n Cream for the No Way Jose! especially if you are an ice cream lover! you do also get a lot for your money!

I totally get the "IN DISNEY" feeling, its those classic rides that there is nothing remotely close to it anywhere else, nothing can compare! Another one for me is Spaceship Earth!

loving this!!! Sorry to hear about your break up though x

Thanks for the support and keep reading [: and I LOVE your avatar picture!

Loving your pics...thank you for sharing. Sorry about your break up.

Walking out of the Land we see this glorious view!

IMG_1233-002.jpg

I do wish a monorail was coming by in this picture!

IMG_1241-001.jpg

Making our way to travel back in time to Spaceship Earth! I really love this ride! I've always been fascinated by it when I was younger and I will say I miss some of the parts they took out for the new interactive part, even though that is also fun! I tried to take some pictures

I wish I got a picture of the phone operators, that was like one of my favorite parts, I always thought it looked fun to connect the wires lol. I also really like the part with the Roman guy delivering mail like the pony express, the lights are awesome!

So I think while we were on spaceship earth it poured and it was raining a little when we got out but it wasn't bad, but we decided to head back to the hotel room to chill and decide on dinner and wait the rain out for extra magic hours at Hollywood Studios! which I was sooo excited for!

So we were trying to decide what we wanted to eat for dinner and we weren't sure if we wanted to eat at Hollywood studios because they don't have that many options. We ended up deciding on the Big River Grille on the Boardwalk!I just love being on the Boardwalk and it was a good location to take the boat back to Hollywood Studios. So on the bus to EPCOT we went and then we entered and then we went to the International Gateway to take the boat to the Boardwalk! For dinner I had Blackened Mahi Mahi Sandwich* Spicy seared fillet on a freshly baked roll with lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayonnaise. It was really good I enjoyed it! David got one of their beers that was a lighter color and it had a hint of citrus and it was good!

That night really got me thinking, I was just thinking about how much I just loved being there and I'm happiest in Disney World. I just graduated college and I am 5 online courses away from my Masters degree so it was time for me to think about what I wanted to do for a career, I am getting ready to apply for the 2013 spring college program so wish me luck! Courtney (enchanted_belle) is also applying and we are hoping we both get in and we will room together and hopefully write something about our experiences!

IMG_1261.jpg

On our way to the boat we had some time and I saw the shirt I saw over twitter but it wasn't online anywhere, I will have to post a picture but it is all white with Minnie's face and has a red ribbon on the shoulder sleeve. So after that we were waiting in line for the boat and as always there are some interesting characters which you come across haha. As strange as some people can be and the conversations you hear a lot of the time they are still very nice people. I can't go into too much detail you really just had to be there!
IMG_1270.jpg
The line we were in was kind of long and when the first boat came it was already packed, only like 4 people were able to get on, but luckily another boat was not far behind.
IMG_1271.jpg
We were on the boat and off to the studios we went!
IMG_1274.jpg
The ticket guy commented on my Devils shirt woohoo go devils!
Apparently towards the end of August is when a lot of people from Jersey, Philly, and NY come down
IMG_1276.jpg
IMG_1277.jpg
Yay the beautiful hat! haha I mean yeah the hat is ugly and whatever but oh well I still like seeing it and I do like the magicalness the hat portrays lol its whatever, it is what it is! I just couldn't wait to see my favorite icon of the studios!
IMG_1278.jpg
When we got there like everyone was trying to make it to fantasmic I think it was a 10 pm show so the lines were not long and we barely waited for The Hollywood Tower Hotel
IMG_1279.jpg
IMG_1286.jpg
The detail of this queue is so amazing! I also really like the stupid kids movie they made about it,
definitely helps the disney blues because it has some good footage of the Hotel building

IMG_1292.jpg
Obviously the ride was amazing! but there was this young boy really young sitting next to me and I think it was his first time and he was scared and throughout the whole ride he held my arm and it was really cute! He did not want to let go when the ride was over! After TOT we walked over to Rockin Roller Coaster to check the wait and it was very short! I think we sat towards the back and it was great! I think it was one of the best rides I had on it! It is a really cool feeling to ride the rides after you haven't been on them in a while and you forget about them a little.
So we then decided to check Tower of Terror and there was no wait but I think it started raining a little bit before we walked inside. The fact that it started raining before we got on the ride made the ride experience really cool. When the doors opened up it looked really misty and creepy and dark out which is a really cool atmosphere for the Tower of Terror. We also felt the rain a little bit inside the ride.

When we got off everyone was crowding around the gift shop because it was POURING out ughhh how will we be able to get out, we walked around the gift shop a little bit waiting for the rain to calm down a little and it only slightly did but we decided to still try to leave, tried as much as we could to walk under the stores and what not, ugh it was horrible we were both just like cranky and annoyed and soaked, we eventually got to the bus stop and completely soaked eventually got on the bus and got back to the hotel. Thankfully the camera and everything was okay! We had to be up early for the next day for early Crystal Palace breakfast in the Magic Kingdom!

I'm following along, can't wait for more! So sorry about your breakup but things happen for a reason and when one door closes another one opens up! Just keep moving forward and don't look back! Boys are so silly sometimes! I'm like you, my next boyfriend HAS to share my love for Disney or at least be a guy that I can mold into liking Disney! The only problem is, I'm 32 and most guys my age are already set in their ways. Booooo. :(
