I will have to agree totally... Saw the movie yesterday and thought it was great... Disney did the right thing letting Jason Segal, a professed Muppets fan, write the movie... The dude, in my opinion, is talented... I hope this movie does very well in the theater... Soundtrack wasn't bad either... I may actually buy it...

Anyway, I give it two frogs legs up....

Now I don't want to be that guy but after I saw the movie I thought it was good but not great. One of the big things that bothered me was the cameos. I watched the original Muppet movies before I saw this one and I noticed in the originals the cameos are blended into the story. In this movie it gets to one point where they just go "Look everyone it's Selina Gomez, yayyyyy!!!!" Also, at certain points I felt that the Muppets took a back seat to Jason Segal and Amy Adams. I mean that girlfriend subplot seemed unnessassary and it took away from what we came to see. Lastly, I groaned everytime Disney crammed some marketing device in the movie I.E. the Cars 2 poster in the background. But all in all I did enjoy the movie and I'd say out of all the movies it was the 3rd best.

We all loved the movie, but that didn't mean it was perfect. It was certainly a better return of our friends than we could have hoped for. I LOVED the new songs (particularly Man or Muppet), and felt like all was right with the world. The plot felt a little like it was setting up each song instead of building a solid story........but really......so what? It was wonderful. Wonderful wonderful wonderful. And I didn't think anyone could pull it off. I thought the Muppets were a dead brand. Welcome back guys. I hope you make a zillion dollars.

Jason Segel.....a few years ago I didn't know who you were. Thank you for a great Christmas Gift.

I don't care. Dave Grohl as Moopet Animal was an instant classic.

I caught the Dave Grohl cameo, too. I don't know for sure, but based on his age and general wackiness of his videos, I bet he's a big Muppet fan. The whole tone and presentation of the movie made it clear this movie was made by a lot of big Muppet fans. My thanks to Jason Segal (who I've liked since his time on "Freaks & Geeks", the greatest one-season show ever, btw) for resurrecting the Muppets. A zany, fun return. I really enjoyed the musical numbers, and I thought the balance between man & muppet and comedy & sentimentality was perfect. Nice hidden Mickey during the fireworks, too.

Minor complaint: the voices are close, but lack some of the range of the original voice artists.

Travelled via map, heh. :D DRUMS!! In con-trol. :D

The Toy Story short before the movie was hysterical. You have to love the support group for fast food kid meal toys. Mini Buzz!

Just got back from seeing it. We absolutely loved it - even the cameos. Anyone who grew up watching the Muppet Show (or watching it with their kids) will really love this movie. Kudos to Jason Segel - well done!!!

We just saws it as well, and we all loved it. My new favorite thing to say, "Yo what the waka!" I really thought a lot of the humor that the muppets were known for was back in this movie. While the movie wasnt perfect (skirting the line of too much Segal and Adams, especially in the songs.) And not enough Pepe!:animwink: Overall I think they did a great job of making a movie that stands on its own but then allows a good framework to build off of for another movie. Two things that I was pleasantly surprised with are, (1.) the voices. Although nowhere near perfect, they were all very much improved. Especially Scooter, Rolf & Dr. Teeth. (2.) Walter. I didnt think I would like him but he was very well done. I really hope the movie does well, it deserves it.

Just went to it today for DD's 12th Birthday. She has only seen one of the other films before and of course MuppetVision 3-D. She, along with the rest of my family absolutely loved the film. My oldest missed Gonzo in this film. He seemed to only be in about 10 minutes of it:shrug:. Like other have said, We didn't need to whole romance story on the side but it sort-of fit in. The songs were really good and my whole family was laughing at all the jokes (Did anyone catch the woman in the movie asking if this was Universal? that had my oldest and me dying)

**WARNING, there might be some joke spoilers in here!!**

I saw it midnight Tuesday - SOOOO GOOD. I cant wait to see it again! I have been singing "Man or a Muppet" for 5 days straight!!

I loved all the cameos, they felt fluid to me. Selena Gomez was there to help with the telethon, the fact that they called her name out was important to be like "look! a celebrity is here to help us out!" after Kermit had so many problems getting celebrities to help out. I just about LOST it when Walter looked in the mirror and he was Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. I think I missed half the song cause I was laughing so hard!

I am so proud/thankful of Jason Segel. I am a huge How I Met Your Mother fan since day 1, and I always knew this was in his heart, its so clear for anyone who is a fan of him or the show. I had 100% faith in him, its like a kindred spirit was having his dream come true! And then Amy Adams - whom is my lady crush ever since Enchanted. Damn, she got to be a Disney Princess AND be in a Muppet movie?! Jealous!!!!

Thought the movie was great, especially the music and '80s robot, but...

... In this movie it gets to one point where they just go "Look everyone it's Selina Gomez, yayyyyy!!!!"..., I groaned everytime Disney crammed some marketing device in the movie I.E. the Cars 2 poster in the background...

This stuff infuriated me too.
I don't even know who Amy Gomez or that little boy that was with her are, but I'm assuming they're child actors from some kind of Disney Channel/ABC show.
Product placement is one thing, but if they're going to just stop the movie for a commercial they can at least knock a few dollars off my ticket price.

I know it's nothing new, but it's getting more and more jarring, particularly because you can tell that the movie studios are employing more strategy these days. I'd be willing to bet that the Cars 2 billboards, which are prominently shown twice, the camera lingering over them, were selected to time with the DVD release. The billboard images were clearly CGI-ed into the frame, and had the release of the Muppet movie not been timed correctly I'm sure they would have been replaced with a different Disney/ABC/ESPN/Apple product. That's why this sort of advertisement bothers me- it's just so slick and sneaky, as if people aren't going to notice.

The Muppets come from a period in time where corporate synergy and stealth advertising were far less prevalent than they are today, and to see their return marred by this kind of thing makes me sad.

On the other hand, maybe there's some poetic justice to this, considering that most of the Muppet characters started out as advertising shills in the first place.

We saw it on Saturday, and LOVED it! I thought it was hilarious - a movie that adults will enjoy just as much as kids. And the Toy Story short was GREAT - I love getting to see the gang again! This was my 6-year old's first exposure to the Muppets, and it was definitely a hit. I'd say the Muppets are officially back!

The only thing I missed was that there were not the cassic one liners from the orginial Muppet Movie, but overall a great hit.

saw it with my 6 yr old daughter. She loved it, as I did as well. Man or a muppet, that was a brilliant seen. My daughters first encounter with the muppets was at DHS, so it was very neat to compare the two. The set at DHS/movie theater and the theater on the movie are so close. It was fun for me to find things from DHS in the movie. And the hidden mickeys throughout the movie as well, like the fireworks at the end. I had know idea what the movie was about, so it was a great surprise for me. My only problem was that it may have a little too much of show tune feel for me.
