Anyone have any info on the Hong Kong Disneyland Preview Center that opened on friday in Epcot's China Pavilion? I read that it's got blueprints, attraction models, etc. I'd really like to see some pictures and know whether there's any pre-opening info available (brochures, maps, booklets??).
Thanks!

I saw it on saturday and sunday it is a pretty informative little exhibit. I took pictures and video of the whole thing. When I went they had a couple of guys working there that were transfering over to the Hong Kong Disneyland (when it opens). So they gave us some more details of the park. Inside the exhibit it was mostly photos of groundbreaking, and buildings and areas being set up. There were some small models of major rides/attractions at each of the lands of HKDL which included a layout of Fantasy Gardens ( an area unique to HKDL ), and then in the middle of the layout was a big pop up map of the new park set up as a tribute to the original DL park map. I will try to upload some pictures if I can get them off my disk before I go out to sea.

HKDL looks still so lacking in attractions (as covered in the TDL/HL thread) but I do love the mountain range backdrop to the castle. It is virtually due west of the castle too - imagine the sunsets!

I like the unique way that they have set up their Tarzan treehouse. Instead of having it attached to the land (like the US ones are) it is its own little treehouse island that you have to sail too. It is actually two attractions put together from what I read: Tarzan's Treehouse and Tom Sawyers island.

I know that this might be off topic of the exhibit, but I actually saw them constructing HKDL back in 2003 when I was on Lantau island. So it would be cool to actually see it finished.

Thanks for the info. Wish I had a chance to get down there to see it in person. It's always neat to see the concept pictures and drawings.

I was at Downtown Disney (not the parks) this Saturday and saw several CM's with bright red ribbons on their tags which proclaimed they were from Hong Kong. I asked one of the CM's who checked me out how long she was here and she said six months! Sheesh, that seems like a long time. She gave me a little card that announces the website - www.hkdisneyland.com - and shows a map of where it is located.

I think it's definately a neat idea to have the HK CM's learn first-hand at WDW, but boy, that's a long time a long way from home!

most all CMs in World Showcase are a long way from home, for a long amount of time!
