We will be honeymooning in about 4 weeks! We are looking at places we would like to eat now. We are staying at the HIlton at downtown disney. We want to be away from the parks but also close enough we can drive to them.

What are some good places for us to eat at?
What are some must dos for honeymooners?

We have been annual passholders for 2 years now, so we are pretty familiar with all the parks but havnt eaten at many sit down restaurants. We normally eat at quick service or leave the parks and eat.

Congratulations!

I would definitely recommend eating atop the Contemporary at the California Grill-very romantic and you can watch Wishes at MK from their balcony.

First off Congrats on the marriage and honeymoon!:sohappy:

DH and I will be celebrating our 4th anniversary in August (we honeymooned at Disney as well).

Some places I would recommend would be:
1. Victoria and Albert's at the GF - This is such a wonderful romantic spot.
2. California Grill
3. Jiko
4. Artist Point
5. Yachtsman Steakhouse
6. Narcossee's

Must do's:
1. RELAX and ENJOY! Take your time and don't overdo yourself.
2. Anything you want, it's your honeymoon!

Have a great trip!

Congrats!

Add me to those who recommend the Cali Grill. We've dined there on every trip since 2003. Amazing food, staff and ambiance. Our favorite time was actually on our honeymoon. I unfortunately can't remember our servers name but he was so warm, friendly and attentive....telling us how much he loved seeing couples in love at WDW. If your dinner happens to fall around the time of Wishes, our servers have planned the meals around the fireworks so you are free to go outside and watch and your food will not get cold.

Have you thought about doing at Wishes or Illuminations cruise? I believe it was around $250 (back in 2006) and we had our own private boat with snacks and drinks. We had our choice of pickup at either the Poly or FG an hour before Wishes. Our captain was a young man who gave us a tour of Bay Lake with interesting facts and stories of the development of WDW and the various islands around the lake. When the show was about to start, he parked us next to a yacht with the soundtrack playing so we could hear. So incredibly romantic and was worth the extra $$ to see the show we've seen so many times in a completely different way.

Hello! Congratulations to you both...we will be honeymooning at WDW in August as well. From what other people have recommended we booked reservations at the California Grill (seems to be a fav of many). There is a lovely restaurant at Grand Floridan called Victoria and Albert's. It is has a seven course menu but is very expensive. California Grill has a balcony where you can watch the MK fireworks...we reserved for 9pm. Whatever you choose will be lovely, just make sure you make reservations soon! Congrats and enjoy

One more thing about the California Grill....I heard that in the past that if you didn't dine during the fireworks, they were allowing you to return with your receipt and they would bring you back upstairs to view the fireworks from the balcony. Not sure if they still offer this, but it may be something you'd be interested in checked out.

I'm honeymooning in August too. We're staying in CBR but I'd like to upgrade at least the first two nights to the Contemporary. We arrive on the night of the 14th and will probably eat dinner at the California Grill.

we're honeymooning in mid-august and so far i've booked reservations at - boma, kouzzina, the california grill, artist's point, and coral reef. i also booked spa treatments at the mandara spa at the swan and dolphin. we're planning on taking things easy and spending a lot of time by the pool at the hotel.

when i husband and i did an anniversary trip in 07 we did a little picnic on the beach at the gf and watched the fireworks. the nice thing about going in the summer months is the parks being open so much later. we liked getting up early going to a park, back to the hotel for the afternoon (hit the pool or just honeymooned lol) then got cleaned up had a nice dinner and went to the parks again. i think it's great to take the time to enjoy the resort pool, spa, hot tub etc... there's nothing like honeymooning at disney you get the fun of a honeymoon and the benefit of being able to be a silly kid if you still want to.
