First off, congratulations! It seems like a lot of members have upcoming weddings, myself included. I took my fiance on his first trip this past January. We went to Narcoossee's, which was a first for all of us. We loved it! He said that it was the best meal he's ever had. The atmosphere was great too, and we had a wonderful view of the fireworks. I would highly suggest it.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding too! Though we're not getting married until September, it's great to know that love is still alive and well. Are you doing a WDW Honeymoon? :D

Congrats!
Don't pass on the SCI FI, despite its average food, the atmosphere is pure Disney.
Don't go expecting gourmet food and you'll have an awesome time!

Thank you! I'm thinking, after seeing pictures, the ribs and peanut butter/chocolate pie will be this places possible saving grace. I think DF/DH will like the atmosphere, but that meal might make the place a must-go. :D

I've been there a couple of times in the past and had a decent meal, and a lot of fun.

I agree with Worldfanatic about the atmosphere, it is pure Disney. Sitting in the "car" booths and watching old Sci-Fi movie trailers is pretty darn cool, if you ask me. I can't wait to take my DW, and DD(6) to the Sci-Fi for their first time Sept. 16th for dinner!

Unfortunately, we aren't. We are going to Alaska on a cruise instead. My DF told me that if we had not gone to WDW in January he would have considered WDW as a place for our Honeymoon. :brick: Oh well, I did make him promise that we would go as a 2nd Honeymoon before we have kids. And it is very good to know that love is alive and well!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Since I'm in charge of doing all the Honeymoon planning, I want to make it a great trip. Your input really helps. :D
I'd 2nd the opinion to skip the Sci-Fi. The restaurant itself was cool, the food was mediocre. You could always catch the boat out of HS and go over to Epcot and eat in France or Canada. But then again, Le Cellier is one of my favorites.

The only one I don't recommend is Tutto...

Narcossees was amazing when we went (2 yrs ago), but it's hard because of the credits issue. We were able to get Y&Y walk-up, and loved it.

My family is Italian and love Tutto. Fresh made pastas, and great sauces, plenty of food. The misto appetizer albeit pricey at $26, is a great way to start off a large family meal. Maybe it was the time of year that you went?

Here's what we're thinking for daily ADRs at 4.5 months out before our Disneymoon (we'll be on the DP). Food was one of the main reasons DF didn't totally turn me down when I said I'd like to go to WDW for our Honeymoon, so I want to give him a nice selection. Let me know what you think, if you'd change anything and how you'd substitute.

  • Sunday (Arrival day) - Le Cellier @ 6:30pm
  • Monday - Sci Fi @ 5:30pm
  • Tuesday - Kona Cafe @ 7:15pm
  • Wednesday - Yak & Yeti @ 4:15pm
  • Thursday - Tutto Italia @ 4:30pm
  • Friday (Departure Day) - Kona Cafe @ 10:30am
(We're considering giving up Sci Fi and Kona on Tuesday for Narcoossee's Tuesday evening after MK closes.)

Well I do have bad news from another post I just read. If you have not already made your res for Le Cellier and you are past the 180 day mark you may not get a res at all.

I'm going to Disney on my honeymoon in October and will be trying both Le Cellier and was told that I must must must try Narcoossee's it's very romantic for a honeymoon during the MK fireworks.
