The Land pictures were from April. The Fantasyland pic is from September.

I was at WDW last month, and my impression was there were many more personal strollers than there had been in the past. Also, for the Disney strollers, singles appeared to outnumber doubles 4 to 1.

No, you take your receipt with you are they give you another one at the next park.

$31 for a double, whereas it was $18 not long ago!

I believe the singles are $15 now.

WoW! It was $18 for a double not long ago, and now its up to $31????? That is redic. I'd just bring an umbrella stroller and that's that.

When our children were stroller age..the young visits (18mths) we brought our own Peg Perego to use. When they became toddlers we rented. Even at 2 we still had to bring in a bag with essentials in it (extra clothes in case of accidents, handiwipes, sunblock etc). In MK esp. we would park the stroller in one area. Leave our bag and visit all the attractions in that area. Then we would go get the stroller, bag, put child in stroller and stroll on to the next area. what I don't get is why do so many people get worked up over the whole stroller issue? Personally I'd never pay $31 or even $27 a day to rent a stroller.

The great thing about large numbers of people renting strollers is when they leave the parks they leave the strollers behind. Meaning not so many strollers on the buses, boats, trams and monorails.

The bad thing about increased numbers of people bringing in their own strollers is there will be more strollers hauled onto the buses, boats, trams and monorails. At the end of the night that can be crazy.

The photos in Fantasyland show lots of personal strollers. So it doesn't appear that actual stroller usage is going down. There just seem to be fewer rental strollers.

Yep, last year it was $18 a day, $16 if you went ahead and purchased the entire length of stay. It's just a huge price climb, I would have expected it to be more gradual!

I am bitter about strollers at Disney  I don't like them and they don't like me

I was on the bus to POR when a couple with a kid in a stroller decided to take the kid out and put him on their lap. Since the stroller was now in their way they decided to shove it to the side. When it rolled back toward them the mother shoved the stoller as hard as possible and scraped it across my leg.

I bled all over the place and have a scar. I didn't need stitches but I had to keep it bandaged and ended up with a white stripe around my leg from my tan.

The father said "watch what you're doing!" to the wife and the wife said "well you were supposed to be holding it!" to the husband and neither of them said anything to me even though my Mom and two other womed started grabbing tissues from their purses so I could stop the blood.

I DON'T LIKE STROLLERS!

(*I know this has nothing to do with the thread...I just wanted to vent*)

Well now that they are charging so much to rent them, there will be MANY more on buses. I always said I'd never bring my own stroller, but I guess I will have to now.

I'm sorry about your leg. I can't believe the parents didn't apologize or anything. I would feel so terrible if I caused something like that to happen!

Ok, it's obvious that many do not like strollers. Summer time and higher park attendance does mean more families visiting WDW thus more strollers. I personally do not know what I would do without mine. My daughter is actaully encouraged to ride in hers bc there is nothing worse than a tired whiny kid! Exept maybe an aggitated parent that hastes the whining from the tired kid! IMO, strollers actually help families enjoy the experience. I will say that I get pleasantly annoyed with a row of double wides that block every pass through....A funny story that happened while waiting for the bus. My daughter saw a few women in scooters, never seeing them before wanted to know what they were for. Pure embarrassment overcame me and knowing that there was no evident handicap that prevented the women from walking as they were getting organized walking around the scooters, I explained to my daughter that sometimes when we get old it becomes more difficult to walk long distances especially when their back and knees may not be as yound their heart and the scooters allow them to enjoy themselves more. For the rest of the day she reminded that anyone with a slight limp was old and needed a red scooter, this was especially emebarrassing! After reading the posts and experiencing WDW, I wonder, how are the strollers much different than the scooters? I will say that most parents are pretty inept when comes to controlling a stroller. But a barely handicapped person that does not use a scooter frequently is far more dangerous!

Uh-oh, first the stroller price increase leading to more personal strollers being taken, which means more strollers on buses and now a rumor that they'll run less buses every day............can someone say nightmare?

I was amazed at the sea of strollers but we had a double ourselves so we just added to the masses. We bought our stroller at a consignment shop for $37. It was the best money we ever spent!

Now people are supposed to remove the kids from the strollers, fold them up and then board the bus. I know some will try to get around this, but having kids in strollers on crowded buses...uh, thats just asking for trouble.

The kids may not LIKE umbrella strollers, but I would buy 2 cheap ones and use them instead of paying 28-31 bucks A DAY! I can bet you 30 bucks right now they would complain and walk for about 30 minutes and all of sudden the umbrella stroller will look like gold to them.

They even have DOUBLE umbrella strollers now and they also have clips that stick two separate umbrella strollers together.

I haven't been on a bus in 3 years, I always rent a car now, it so much less aggravating.

Yeah, it gets bad, also near Pirates gets pretty full...when I worked contracting at the parks, I referred to MK as "stroller encounter"...it really gets bad.

This subject has already been beaten to death though.

Everyone... there is an easy solution to this. Take a ziplock bag of sugar and give your child a spoonful every half hour. Every hour, give them a red bull drink. Every 6 hours, give them an advil liquid gel. They will be peppy and ready to walk all day long, and all night long, and all night night. See, no stroller needed!

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and you should consult with your personal physician before attempting this chemical overload with your children. If your children are 21 years or older, then they probably already know this information... and thus, they should have no need of a stroller.

Yeah I have experience with the people using the strollers as battering rams, the wheelchairs too! A few years back my best friend and myself went for a few days, and our first night we had reservations at CRT. After dinner we went to go ride pirates, which had just reopened from it's major rehab, and this woman who had a wheelchair by the way with no one in it literally took it and ramped into her achilles tendon and she went down. So the woman keeps going and I make sure my best friend is ok and get her to a bench and a cm called a medic too, and I went after her, nobody runs over my best friend and gets away with it! So I caught up to her, and was like hey you just hit my friend and didn't apologize, that is just blatant rudeness! She looks at me like I had 3 heads, and says to me in spanish that she can't speak english, and low and behold she is with one of those tour groups from the Latin American countries, and her little leader person comes up to me, I guess hearing that I was giving her a heard way to go, and he says 'o so sorry she doesn't understand the customs of your country'! I'm like running someone over and fleeing the scence is a no-no worldwide in my opinion!
But you know do we know for a fact that this stroller price increase is going to stick? By this I mean we have the dinner price increases at X-mas, maybe we have stroller price increases at summer time?
