Hollywood Studios water tower receives new lighting

Maybe its just new to me, but driving by last night I noticed that it doesn't use the popcorn style lights anymore, its a solid, very bright white flourescent style. I think it looks much better and really stands out. Sorry I didn't get a pic.

Could this be a dream come true? The pieces surely fit with the eyesore of a hat being removed. I doubt it will be anytime soon, but still I just want it gone

This would explain why there were workers doing something to it on September 17th when we were on the BLT. They would lower themselves in the boom every time a tram would go by so they wouldn't ruin any photo ops and then go back up.

Not getting my hopes up, but I do hope that this means the hat is finally departing from DHS!

To be honest, I like the hat, I just don't like its location. They should move it to AOA or somewhere else that doesn't block any views.

Yep, we noticed them up there quite a few times during the first couple weeks of Sept. I just wondered if they were cleaning it or something.

I saw some work taking place on the tower in late August as well. Looked like routine maintenance stuff... but... in hindsight... who knows?

I know it is nothing official but I have friends who work at Studios and they have been hearing rumors of the hat being taken out.

Well could be that they are finally updating the lighting for the tower. If they were putting in leds,it would allow them to change the color of the lights to match events.

I like the hat also, but it should be moved. I think it should be next to the lake and used as part of a redone entrance. It can also work at aoa, so can alot of other retired elements in the parks.
