Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom?

I've only been to AK once, so I can't say yet. I do love Hollywood Studios, especially the front bits, with all the nostalgia. When you add in Indy, The Muppets, Star Wars, and Twilight Zone, it's hard NOT to love it. My sister likes it a lot too, saying that she'd probably pick that as her favorite of the 4 parks.

Disney MGM Studios used to be my favorite park. What kid growing up in the 80s would not love being able to watch Indy race the giant boulder or ride in a space craft and destroy the Death Star. You could watch actual animators at work after seeing a cute film with Robin Williams and Walter Cronkite! Or ride the Back Stage tram tour and see sets from TV and movie productions. You could learn about post-production with Mel Gibson and Pee Wee Herman after riding on a giant bee. The Studios really captured the imagination and captivated the guests. Now, it is still a great park. I love TSMM, ToT, the Muppets. But it has lost its original purpose and therefore has lost some of its shine for me.

I now prefer AK, mostly because of my kids. They love seeing the animals. I enjoy the mix of animal attractions, rides, and shows. I feel more relaxed in this park, like I don't have to rush everywhere to see it all. I like all of the characters that the kids can meet in this park. Tusker House is my favorite breakfast on property. Nemo and Festival of the Lion King are two of the best shows on property. We spend a whole day there, from opening (again no pressure to make rope drop) until evening, so we can take our time and appreciate everything. Great theming, great attention to detail. I just wish they would remove those horrible carnival games and ditch the Pandora concept for something more original, more Disney.

I'd choose HS, no question. More attractions (and a greater percentage we can actually all go on -- some of AK's best are too rough or too wet for the fam) and we can spend most of a day there, whereas we're more than ready to leave the AK by lunchtime. Plus, TSMM and Rock 'n' Rollercoaster are two of the best attractions on Disney property (in the opinion of my family).

I enjoy them both but find that we spend more time in HS then in AK. AK we go in and ride the Safari and Dinosaur and leave. HS we can spend most of a day there.

AK hands down. Dinosaur, the safari, lion king, and everest is more than enough to keep me entertained all day and thats just the minimum of what you can find there. DHS is becoming more of a "chore" to go to. There's not much there besides ToT and fantasmic (Indy gets old after years of seeing the same show as does Muppets).

DHS is actually my favorite of all the parks. Hollywood and Sunset are my favorite areas on property, ToT is my all time favorite ride RnR, ST, GMR and TSMM are all very high on my list and I love all of the shows even AIE and I can't stand the real show...love AK too but it would be 4th for me but I don't like the out before noon monicur we have stayed for 7-8 hours and still not done Kali, Dinosaur, or Rafiki. AK is a unique park to take in slowly soaking on all of the incredible detail and the animals while mixing in some great shows, food, and rides. That being said DHS is my favorite :)))

Definitely Hollywood Studios. Even though it's getting long in the tooth, the nostalgia just gets to me! I also love DHS because I love Classic Hollywood, even though that aspect of the park is disappearing.

I miss the Mulan parade and the Hunchback show.

DHS...ToT, RnR and dare I say...TGMR:eek:

Yes, sorry folks but TGMR is exactly what the park is about. Yes, it needs some love but we ride it several times every visit as it embodies the spirit of the park for us. I hate that it feels like it is in some sort of dark alley though behind the BAH.

Animal Kingdom all the way. It is one of my favorite parks. I love the theming and the animals. It's amazing how many spots that we've never seen before that we discover each time we go . The theming of this park is just incredible but I think many people don't even notice as they rush to get to the "rides". The animals encouters are different every time and there is so much to learn about. I think the shows are also best on property. Not only is AK not a half day park for us, we spend at least 2 days there each trip and do different things each time.

I've asked my family before if we could only go to one park at WDW, which would it be? All three of us answered Hollywood Studios. We love all the rides and themes there.
My personal list in order is DHS, MK, DAK, EPCOT.
If they do ever put Star Wars Land in DHS, I may never go to another park again...j/k. :geek:

I feel like there are more "must do" attractions at AK for me than DHS. When I run out of those I find AK more enjoyable and interesting to explore.

Both DHS and DAK are seriously lacking in things to do...so neither would be too on my list.

MK is my current fave, but it used to be Epcot.

Although both parks could use some attention and the addition of a few attractions my favorite of the two is the Animal Kingdom for a few reason:

- DAK is just all around beautiful,it is more spread out and less crowded than DHS (I see why Joe Rohde is so proud of it)
- Expedition Everest is one of my favorite rides in all of WDW and though I may be alone on this I also enjoy Primeval Whirl
- I love animals so seeing them on the Safari, the Maharajah & Pangani treks and other exhibits are awesome (btw Flight's of Wonder should not be missed)
- I prefer the dining options in DAK over DHS which is seriously lacking in quality and variety (The mouse does need to add at least one more TS and CS option in DAK)
- Two of the greatest shows on property can be found in DAK (FN & FotLK)

I'm excited to see what the future holds for both of the parks but I am hoping the Imagineers will take this opportunity to utilize the space and the waters available in DAK to make it even better.

I prefer AK, i enjoy to walk around and enjoy the green. Also, they got a spot where i can stop and read without being in anyones way.
The safary is nice, but after i had surgery i can't stand the movement of the truck, much less everest. But i enjoy lion king, and bug's life. I love the reaction of the people when the bugs leave the show. :D

These are some very fair points, I feel AK gets more stick than it deserves, there is plenty of fantastic attractions and shows their and it is without doubt the nicest looking park out of them all in terms of environment.
