Hollywood Studios needs more Star Wars

With Star War weekends being so popular I would love to see them do more with theme. The characters could be there throught the year they could make a Star Wars Stunt show to run along with the Indy Stunt Show. I think a cool idea would be to create a cantina to eat at and have SW characters come to the tables like the other character dining experiences.
I agree but I will admit that I am a tad bias towards Star Wars.:D

If they brought back Raiders Of The Lost Jedi Temple Of Doom for Star Wars weekends I think that would make a lot of people happy especially MasterYoda.
Yes it would. That show was big gigantic bucket of win with a side of awesome sauce.

Thanks, and it does not even come close to describing the show.

I agree. That show had some awesome writing.

It was a tad edgey. It reminded me of Disney attempting to go the route of Bill and Ted at Halloween Horror Nights.

If only they could bring back that show year after year with story tweaks as another offering for Star Wars Weekends.

I guess we should all just be happy with Star Tours getting the change. Disney kind of waited too long to jump on their next big chance with Star Wars. Not that it will die out or be unpopular anytime soon, but as far as business investment they missed out to their liking on that one.

A SW dining option would be sick! I am a huge fan of the series and I actually wasn't all that impressed with the SW weekend last May. All I saw was various character meet and greets and a parade... other than that, nothing all that special. I mean, the local SW club (forget their name) marches in the St Patricks Day parade here in boston... same costumes and all.

I think the Jedi Training Academy works well in its current format - any bigger and it would impact the kids participation. I am DEFINITELY in favor of a cantina - it would work perfectly with the animatronic band (a la Cosmic Rays) and could have any host of characters wandering through. I'm a total Star Wars junkie so anything that would immerse you in that world would be awesome IMO.

Well it matters how kids and adults would take part along with what would be created.

For whatever reason you bypassed about half of the event. Along with what you mentioned there is also the Hyperspace hooplah, Jedi training, Behind the Force, stars of the saga, Padawan mind challenge and celebrity autographs. If you are there on a weekend that Ray Park appears he does a special show called a visit to the maul.

I think life in general needs more Star Wars.* In fact, I can't think of anything that wouldn't be better with more Star Wars.

*Original Star Wars, none of this new trilogy and Clone Wars crap.

Here here, and I'll add to that. Original Trilogy UNALTERED. None of this CGI-enhanced, Greedo-shooting-first, "Jedi Rocks" Song in Jabba's palace garbage. Ha ha.

I am not really a huge fan of the whole Star Wars franchise, but I do agree that it would be a great move to make a whole land of Star Wars. If they throw in Indiana Jones as well, and add that to an expanded Pixar Place and the already awesome Sunset Blvd., the park would improve tremendously.

YES! The unaltered, original films as they were made to be seen. Still can't find those on DVD. All I can find are the terrible altered ones that made a mockery of the whole franchise. *angrily shakes fist at George Lucas*

I think the Mos Eisley Cantina would be clumsy (at best) if it were made into a restaurant. I'd rather see it as a bar (i.e. "cantina") in a reimagined Pleasure Island. I know it's not going to happen, but picture Mos Eisley Cantina side-by-side with the Adventurer's Club, Tortuga Tavern, and Rick's Gin Joint.

The DVD set I have has 2 DVDs for each episode - the original un-altered movie is on the bonus disc. That's the one I make my kids watch.

I felt this way for the longest time, but then I found them. See below, they ARE out there!

Yep, they are KINDA tough to find, but all 3 OT films were re-re-re-re-released on DVD as "Limited Editions" that came with a bonus disc of the unaltered original films...but they weren't cleaned up or polished at all so they aren't the greatest picture quality, but it's FAR BETTER than nothing. Try Walmart, they sometimes has them in stock...maybe Amazon dot com or eBay too

They have a whole section basically for star wars stuff, the enterprise of Star wars has been dieing down more and more. I've never been a huge fan but ive seen the movies. Now maybe if they continued making new ones then they could add a little somethin somethin just as a tribute but for now. startours2.0 will do for me

I agree.

Except I dig the prequels and think Clone Wars is one of the best animated series on television.

So, I guess just more Star Wars, please. :)

yeah, as others have said, the current double discs (still plenty of them on this coast in warehouse clubs like costco and BJs) of the Star Wars movies have the revised versions of each movie in the original trilogy on one disc, and the original theatrical edition of the same movie on the other. But the theatrical version is a straight-up copy of the previously released laserdisc - it's not even enhanced for widescreen TVs. Blu-Rays are coming out later this year; I'm thinking about pre-ordering the original trilogy, then waiting for the press release to see if they have the original cuts. If they don't, I'll cancel my order.

Slightly off-topic, but supposedly, according to a dopey entertainment news item, Seth Rogen was talking to Lucas and Spielberg, and Lucas is one of those cats who truly believes 2012 will herald the end of the world. Now I don't think that's going to happen, but if Lucas DOES think it's going to happen, hey, why not make millions of people happy and give us the original trilogy, unaltered and hidef, for free? I mean, what are you going to spend that money on in 2012 if there's no planet left to spend it, Georgie? Come on, go out with some good karma.

This is still one of the funniest things I've ever heard, Patton "Ratatouille" Oswalt: "I Will Kill George Lucas With a Shovel." NSFW, use headphones wisely.
