Reports are coming out that the NHL season will be "un-canceled" today. The players offered a new deal, with what looks to be a $45 million salary cap, to the owners. It looks like the owners will accept it. A 28-game season could start the first week of March. Players in Europe are being advised to prepare to rejoin their NHL clubs. Why has hockey been resurrected? It's thanks to legends Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky. After the season got canceled, they decided to step and get both sides back together to work on this. Come on, gimme my hockey!

However, I just have one problem with this proposed 45 million dollar cap...... They are going to be faced with the same problems they have right now about 3 years down the road! As these players salaries start to get bigger and bigger the cap will become too low and they will most likely face another lockout. That is the lowest cap in professional sports!! NFL Cap: just over 68 million, NBA cap: a little over 50 million!

It's over. Mario and Wayne failed to save the season. I'm sick of this. The way this whole thing has been handled has been complete garbage. I hate the union. I hate Bettman. If they can't get a deal done now, then what's the point? Are they just magically gonna somehow have a deal next year? Complete bull, the whole thing! There's only one reason I can see for this whole charade. I supported the owners, but it now appears they just want to crush the union.

Here's an interesting tidbit...

This year...there probably won't be an NHL playoffs.
The last time there wasn't one...was back in 1919...(after the Red Sox won the World Series! IT'S THE CURSE OF THE SOX!!!)

Hate to hear it about Hockey this year. I've never been a huge fan, but I have enjoyed the past couple of Stanley Cup Playoffs. And I was hoping to learn more about the game this year. I guess that won't be happening. I don't know if the NHL will be able to recover from this or not.
