Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Why has the idea of an American land not been suggested? That's a question that would be interesting to work on.Interesting thread. Thinking about it, I think an American land for Animal Kingdom (maybe a more nature-focused take on Frontierland) may have even more possibilities than the Australia concept that gets tossed around here so much.
Bring on the Bears, Wolves, Bison, Moose, Armadillo, Red Fox, Coyotes, Bald Eagles, Wild Mustangs (would they still be considered wild if exhibited though), Pheasants, Cougars, etc. This sounds cool if they put in the theaming effort that the rest of animal kingdom exhibits have.
Never seen a bear at Disney other than BalooBut you can see Polar Bears at SeaWorld

They pace? I'm not really following the logic there...One of the DAK execs promised many years ago that they would never have bears in the park. They didn't want them because they tend to pace.
I agree with the OP that a North American area would be wonderful. Even a new exhibit in Asia or around the Tree of Life would be nice. Anything at all would be nice.
They have Brown Bears at Silver Springs.I'd guess mostly that they cannot handle the Florida heat. Climate is the reason that you never see Alligators in Maine.
They tend to walk back and forth in an enclosed area. Especially when they know it's close to feeding time. They pace? I'm not really following the logic there...
Yes I would say it does.I bumped into some dude who said he was a Chicago bear, does that count?![]()
Because bears don't cope at all well with being in captivityThey tend to walk back and forth in an enclosed area. Especially when they know it's close to feeding time.
