HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

For those of you who have seen it in person, how does the new castle affect the feel of the park?

Seeing it in person was surreal for me, partly because I had always held onto the image of the quaint little SBC for so long. But it really made the park feel much grander and larger-than-life. Funnily enough the weird colour scheme didn't bother me that much probably due to the bright sun that mutes things down a bit.

I feel like it would look better if that top central part of was blue too.

That's exactly what I thought as well!! The new golden parts of the castle just blend into the sky too much for me.

Can be, but the Sleeping Beauty one doesn't seem to fit where it was supposed to go if you compare it with the spire that's currently there. A completely different attachment shape right?..

I noticed something interesting about the d23 model. This tower is based off of the older (slightly different) blueprint of the castle. The one being constructed is based off of the newer blueprint though.

edit: you can also see it from the back, how the d23 model uses the taller tower from the old blueprint vs. how the one being built uses the shorter tower from the new blueprint.

Maybe that’s why that tower was lowered a bit from the old blueprints/d23 model? or maybe that’s why they moved it there, cause the tower was lowered?

I have to say, I'm pretty happy they tweaked the colours for the real thing. Looks much better than the concept art imo.

The shape, in general, has been giving me major Beauty and the Beast vibes but that first picture right there is straight-up a shot from Maurice entering the castle.

weekly wip update for y’all. I might continue working on it because I’m never satisfied , or might start a new edit with a better point of view and a sunnier day . Either way I’ll be obsessed with this until it’s finished lol.

You are seriously talented Now I'm so hyped for the castle!

On a second note: does anyone think that they'll actually put plants on the castle? I imagine it will be very hard to maintain...
