I never noticed this but the new castle seems to have new turrets and a whole new wall in front of it?

Assuming the rest of the castle looks like that (unless it is primer), it looks a lot better than the colour scheme from the concept art.
It's refreshing to see a Disney castle have some red spires for a change.

Looks like it's for the two new entrances on the front facade (reminiscent of Shanghai's Enchanted Storybook Castle).
If that's what they're going for I hope they don't permanently close the front gates like Enchanted Storybook Castle! I never really understood why nor warmed up to the idea that the main entrance of the Shanghai castle is never open... it takes away from the "entering another world" feeling.

This aerial map confuses me more cause I don't see the new turrets/walls in the front. Well at least not the way they look in the blueprint.

All the inconsistencies between the different pieces of concept art and blueprints have been so confusing
On a second note, does anyone know if any new towers or spires have been lifted onto the castle? According to the graphic it should have started two days ago...

It looks like there have been some changes over time. The elevation makes it look like the mini-gates on the ramp will now be attached to the castle ramparts (in the site plan, they are separate).
The original art for the new castle felt fanciful but was in fact close to the final product. It appears even the drastic turret color changes were accurate.
We'll see how this works out, but my gut tells me it would have been best to either start fresh from the ground up or make major changes to the original to integrate it seamlessly into the new stuff behind it. It's feeling like it will end up like one of those small historic buildings that gets preserved but with a monster addition attached to the backside.

From what I read, throughout the summer the spires are to be lifted onto the castle base. Don't know exactly what that means.
With the blueprint in the new promo pic, I made more rough visualizations of the new castle. I hope they blend the old castle well.

I'm not liking the color, but it's still exciting to see this happening! Maybe it'll look better when it's fully finished.
