The control room in Paris looks sophisticated just like their Main Street does. The HKDL ones look plastic and like a theme park and I feel if they weathered the roof a bit it would look better.
I agree. Hong Kong's show control rooms could be disguised better as well, seeing as it's technically a backstage facility. Paris' at least got the Go-Away-Green treatment (with dark red accents, possibly to blend with Main Street).

I don't know if I am imagining this, but my memory of the Paris facility is that it was themed to be a groundskeeper's cottage or something along those lines that you might find in an old park or gardens. Either way, it looks very organic to the area, blending the architecture of Main Street and the structures for the popcorn carts.

Not sure I love these structures, but I suppose they're not egregious.

Also, Paris' control room is placed between Main Street and the hub, unlike Hong Kong's which are placed between the hub and the castle. That makes the biggest difference in my opinion. When standing in the hub, Paris' is behind you while in HK they are in front of you.

Judging from the video above, I think a similar structure to Magic Kingdom's freestanding turrets (that I believe doubles as projection towers and show control booths) would've been more effective, no? Tucked more to the side (nearer to the Adventureland and Tomorrowland entrances but not too near, just not to obstruct the castle view for the fireworks), it would blend in more with the "castle forecourt" look than just placing two out-of-place sheds beyond the vicinity of Main Street, USA.

Will there be fireworks, pyrotechnics or projection on the opening of the castle?
They've been testing fireworks, projection mapping, and laser mapping on the castle these past few months, so I wouldn't be surprised if they do so and pull all the stops, seeing as the castle reopening is the focal point of the 15th Anniversary celebration. However, since COVID-19 and social distancing are still things these days, they might either delay the show to 2021 or premiere it now to test socially-distant spaces for nighttime shows for future implementation in the other parks (like what Universal Orlando is doing now with theirs).

This one gives the best feeling of the area so far imo. This project has really elevated the park and made it feel much larger in scope.

This castle looks so beautiful! I remember when the original concept art came out and thought it looked a little odd at the time. But I don't know if I just got use to it or it just looks much better in person but the end result is just stunning. And its nice its no longer a copy of another castle. I wish TDR could change theirs but it's been there to long for that to happen now.

Anyway, can't wait to see this open soon.
