HISTA refurb results?

Anyone visit Honey, I Shrunk the Audience after it reopened from its brief refurb?

Anyone care?
Ouch! What is with all the HISTA hate? I find it to be one of the better shows, effectwise. I also find the theme music catchy. I think it has much better theming than Phil or ITTBAB (which I despise). It is consistently a popular attraction at FWW and if it is removed the entire area would suffer. I think the fact that they are giving it a little TLC is nice. Other than letting it rot away like the Land. I would much rather see the Land get a rehab before Image.

I don't need to see it ever again, either, but I think having some sort of 4-d (is that what it would be called?) movie experience is necessary. I think they just need a new movie. The people in it look very dated. Their clothing, glasses, etc. look like they're at least 15 years old (maybe 20?). I would imagine the son in the movie is at least in his 30s by now...

Time for an update!!!! I probably won't return to that theater until there is something new to see...

It's a pretty good movie and the effects are good, but it is looking dated. Any non-animated film that's set in current time will become dated very quickly.

I agree that most people have no attachment to it but there's nothing else in that pavillion and with the WOL pav completely closed down I think they need to keep it up and running until they launch something new.

Maybe a new presentation will be part of a complete Imagination Pav. rehab. We can only dream...

I agree. It's not that bad. The mice still freak me out and I always lift my legs up! Plus my hubby likes it, he's only been 5 times so he's not sick of it yet! I've been 28 times and I'm not sick of it.

The Land got an extensive refurb. just a couple of years ago (they added a ride called Soarin' and reworked the food court area [lower level]). I don't think that The Land Pavilion is just rotting away.

The show is old for those of us who have seen it a million times, but it's still fun for the first-timers, even though the movie tie-in really dates it.

I really miss the old pre-show though. I actually enjoyed it for its own sake, and it really fit with the pavilion, in a sappy inspirational way. I really don't like the current one. It feels too much like a commercial that will never end.

Oh I disagree. They refurbed the Pavillion, the ride only got an automated spiel, making it lose what little bit of a human element that it had. The boats sink, the paint is peeling, the audio is unreliable, and the attraction floods. Need I say more? The only reason that ride is doing as well as it is, is because the USDA pours so much money into the research program there. It is actually the ride that recieves the most money out of any attraction. Adding Soarin' was positive in some ways but negative in many too. The Pavillion was not built for the amount of traffic it recieves as a result of Soarin', thus requiring the SWIRL technique in the Morning or on busy days. When Soarin' goes down it then becomes the Land's fault and we have to deal with the hundreds of angry guests. In fact, when the building was being evacuated due to a signal 25 the question I got asked the most was not, "is something wrong?", but "Why would you take me out of line for Soarin' just because the fire alarm is going off?". The Land needs more TLC than HISTA and Image, because it is frankly forgettable. Even the president of Epcot forgot about us in the CP video "Future World West has great attractions like Soarin', Nemo, HISTA, and Imagination" Thus leading Land CM's to scream "What about the boat ride?" Yes the boat ride, the only attraction that has not had a significant change since the park opened...
Sorry, another soapbox moment, you caught me on a bad day...(AKA Kidney Stones):o:(

I would most definately want to replace it with another 3D show, but what?

I suppose we could always have some sort of Figment-based idea, but what would become of the Imagination Institute theme?

Personally, I think that the whole institute concept has played itself out and it is time for something new.

A new 3D show, yeah... I hear Michael Jackson, George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola aren't too busy these days...

It would be bizarre to see Captain EO again, in a modern context.
