I hopped over to Disneyland. It was Saturday night and I was hoping to catch the swing band, but I was too late. Maybe next time. So instead I got a treat (opera cake) and coffee from the Jolly Holiday Bakery.

I decided to visit the Orchestrion in the Frontierland store and listen to a tune before riding Big Thunder.

Then I took some pictures before heading out for the night.

TIme to head out of Radiator Springs.

I found the blue area fast pass line and found a spot that I thought would be good for viewing. All the rails were taken and I didn't want to go into the wet zone. So I waited and occasionally took a few pictures, I played the World of Color game too when that came online.

Right when the show started a tall family rushed in and wedged their way in front of me. There were quite a few kids that popped up on shoulders and a lady with a giant ipad. I looked back at the dessert party people with envy. I eventually made my way through the crowd gaps and got a better view. It was nice to see an older version again, but did like the Celebrate version too.

Pirates, it was kind of cold so I liked when the flames came on.

Once the show ended I made my way to the front to get some pictures as the crowds left.

I thought the dessert party was well worth the money. I had a comfortable seat, nice desserts, wine, coffee and a decent view and didn't have to stress about shoulder children and iPads in my face. It might be worth a go when you go back?

Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures. I esp liked the ones of Tangled and Monsters, Inc. I wish that they had those attractions at WDW, as they are my favorites too. I think both of them would have gone over better than Pandora, IMO. I can't believe how uncrowded the parade was in one of your pictures. The whole place looks really manageable, unlike at WDW. Happily following:)

I was going to do the dessert party but I thought since I was by myself I wouldn't have a problem getting decent spot. I would like to do the dessert part next time, but my hubby is so picky he won't eat hardly anything on the dessert plate. I think we will do the Carthay dining package and just get there a little early so we get a rail spot.

I know I am in the minority, but I loved Luigi's Flying Tires. Do you think the new ride is an improvement?

I thought the Flying Tires was fun, but I wasn't very coordinated so I had problems moving the tire. So in that respect I think it is an upgrade. Otherwise it might be a wash for me. Since I don't have to worry about coordination the new Luigi's might have the edge.

Thank you! The first time I went to Disneyland was in 2007 and I was surprised at how uncrowded it was. Every time I've gone back it has gotten a little more busy. The year or so of the 60th celebration was like summer at WDW crowded (at least that is what it seemed like to me). So when I went this time over Easter, I was expecting it to be really crowded so I was very pleased with the lower crowd levels on this trip. Overall though Disneyland is very manageable and it is really a plus that the two parks are literally right across from each other. Very easy to park hop.

Happy Easter! (a little late) But it was Easter Sunday. I expected the park to be super busy but it was not, very nice!
IMG_3937.JPG

Some people reading might know, but other may not....anyway, my husband is a Lutheran pastor and (not that I needed his permission) but was totally fine with me not being around for Easter. I felt a little strange with it being Easter and not going to a service. I thought perhaps I would find one to attend in Anaheim. My husband decided to have one of his confirmation kids hold his phone and he Facebook Lived the sunrise service, mainly for me but others in the congregation watched as well. That made me happy, I could "attend" worship and still be in Disneyland. With the time difference I ended up watching the replay as I was getting ready and eating breakfast. But it made it feel like Easter.

So which park would I go to today? Disneyland of course.
IMG_8028.JPG

IMG_8036.JPG

About 30 minutes I came back to the Candy Palace and checked to see what the Easter eggs were for today, and the special eggs were chocolate peanut butter. Which was what I was waiting for, but then I had to carry them around until I went back to the hotel later. I bought two eggs, one for hubs and one for me, when I left there were only 4 more left for purchase.

I went right to Alice and did some Fantasyland attractions.

Sorry I have not updated in awhile, things have been hectic. So I'm back to finish my report! I left off on Easter Sunday and I was about to ride the Casey Jr. Train from the back of the caboose. I was also wearing my ears from Flower and Garden because I thought they looked spring and Easter-like, I got quite a few compliments on them.

A scene from the Casey Jr. Train
IMG_8084.JPG

Then I walked over to small world, hoping to have a better experience than the last time. Quick recap: I was promised a boat to myself and got the most annoying guy in the world yapping the whole time. So this time the queue looked pretty empty, as I entered the line a couple entered the line behind me. So I pulled over to the side to "take a picture" and let them pass, and I lingered until a boat pulled up and they started to get in, no one had entered the queue yet and it didn't look like anyone was about to. So I got assigned my row and ....
IMG_8093.JPG

I got my own boat!!!

IMG_8094.JPG

Such truer words were never seen on the small world cruise before as when I read this sign....
IMG_8096.JPG

After the marvelous journey on small world I headed to Main Street and rode the trolley, wandered around, and I think it was at this point I bought the chocolate peanut butter Easter eggs.

I headed to Big Thunder Mountain, and I was given a seat in the front. I don't like being in front but I just went with it.
IMG_8146.JPG

Then I used a fast pass at Hyper Space Mountain.

After Space I watched the Disneyland Band and Beauty and the Beast came out to dance to one of the numbers. The band is always a highlight.
IMG_8164.JPG

Then I tried my hand at Buzz, and I was still horrible as usual but fun.
IMG_8169.JPG

I decided it was time for an early lunch so I wandered over to to New Orleans Square. As I passed the Golden Horseshoe I heard what sounded like a show so I headed in and watched for a couple minutes.
IMG_8170.JPG

I also saw Dr. Facillier but just snapped a quick picture and moved on.
IMG_8171.JPG

Lunch was at the French Market. I always get the Cajun meatloaf when I go, so my goal was to get something different. Well, I couldn't resist. Lunch was Cajun meatloaf with an extra scoop of mashed potatoes and extra Worcestershire cream sauce. Oh so good!
IMG_8172.JPG

Then I checked out the trains at the New Orleans station and nerd that I am I wanted my picture taken in front of the train station because it is used in the two brothers sequence in the American Adventure and who knows when I would have a chance to cross the tracks to it again.

After the Mansion I headed over to Critter Country and I noticed from the path by the Hungry Bear there was a good view of the construction so I stopped to take a few pictures including some through a gap I found in the fence. It was strange seeing the river bed.

IMG_8193.JPG

IMG_8195.JPG

IMG_8197.JPG

I decided to ride the Pooh ride and as I was waiting I found an Easter egg.
IMG_8199.JPG

After Pooh I went to the candy shop over there and bought more treats to bring home and share with the husband. I got the peanut butter sandwiches (they are so good!)
IMG_8208.JPG

Splash had a long line, and even though I could have done single rider I didn't feel like getting wet so I moved on.
IMG_8213.JPG

IMG_8215.JPG

On of my favorite snacks at a Disney park is the Mickey Premium ice cream bar, and since the peanut butter sandwiches were wrapped up to take home, it was time for a snack. So I went to the hub and found an ice cream cart and relaxed on a bench with a view of the castle. Also a trolley pulled up as I wrapped my ice cream bar, so I tried to make it look like the horse was eating my ice cream.
IMG_8218.JPG

I relaxed there for awhile and even called the husband to see how Easter services when and he had just returned home from a round of golf after church. When the trolley came back around I hopped on and decided to do a little shopping and head to a special place....

I did a little shopping and headed to the Disneyland Hotel for Trader Sam's Tiki bar! It was crowded in there but I found an empty chair at the bar. It was fun, I ended up chatting with my neighbors and I might have had a bit too much to drink. I don't really drink a lot anymore (since college) but the drinks were so tasty!

I started with a Lost Safari.
IMG_8223.JPG

IMG_8225.JPG

Then a tiki tiki tiki rum
IMG_8229.JPG

IMG_8230.JPG

And ended up with a Zombie
IMG_4054.JPG

My bar neighbors got a Uhoa and I snapped a picture of it flaming.
IMG_4059.JPG

As I headed out I took a look around at some of the decorations, it is such a fun place to look around.

I love the design of these doors.
IMG_8253.JPG

So I said my goodbye to Trader Sam and headed back to my hotel room for a little nap. As I headed back through Downtown Disney I found an Easter Egg.
IMG_8254.JPG

IMG_8255.JPG

I only napped for about 45 minutes but I woke up and didn't feel hazy anymore. So I headed back to the park and caught the last showing of Mickey and the Magical Map for the day. I didn't take any pictures, but I did a Facebook live so hubs could watch too.
IMG_8262.JPG

IMG_8263.JPG

I did have a snack while waiting for the show to start.
IMG_8270.JPG

After the show I went over to DCA and had dinner. I tried the beer cheese soup in the breadbowl. The soup portion was tiny, like a shot glass worth of soup, and the bread bowl was small too but I still didn't finish all the bread. It wasn't really worth the money. I did have some more of the french onion mac and cheese though!
IMG_8271.JPG

And as it got dark I headed over to Carsland.

After doing Mater's and Racers I stopped at the Cozy Cone, I wasn't sure I wanted a snack and then I passed a kid with a soft serve ice cream cone. Then I knew I needed a Cozy Cone ice cream cone. I decided to spring for a few extra cents and get it chocolate dipped.
IMG_4062.JPG

After my cone I headed back to Disneyland, my plan was to watch the fireworks again but they were cancelled because of wind. I was glad I had seen them earlier in the trip. I bummed around for awhile, and rode Big Thunder. I stopped in the Gallery again and saw a guy painting cels.
IMG_8282.JPG

Then I headed out for the night around 11pm.

Last Day! :(

It was a beautiful morning and I spent the day at Disneyland.
IMG_8287.JPG

As everyone raced down Main Street I saw these two and decided to say hi.
IMG_8288.JPG

They were pretty playful!
IMG_8293.JPG

IMG_4066.JPG

I headed to Alice first and as I came around the corner I spotted this guy. We said good morning and carried on our way.
IMG_8301.JPG

I did some more Fantasyland attractions.
IMG_8305.JPG

IMG_8308.JPG

Then I headed over to Space Mountain to get a fast pass for later. As I started walking up the ramp to get a fast pass I noticed a fast pass on the ground, and it was a Buzz fast pass. I looked around and didn't see anyone that might have been the owner, so I kept it and got my Space fast pass. The two fast passes were in the same time period of each other, so I felt pretty lucky. I headed to Big Thunder and then decided to relax with some beignets and a coffee in New Orleans Square.

I tried the special Pirates Treasure ones that were coated with gold dust (lemon sugar) and they were yummy. It was so nice just relaxing there and enjoying the atmosphere. Eventually one of the bands started to play so that just added to the fun.
