Trip Report Hilton Head Island, minimal Mickey, maximum fun.

I mentioned our December trip to Hilton Head Island in my previous trip report but have just not gotten around to posting about it yet, so here goes.
This will be mostly photos without a lot of commentary, but I will say Disney's Hilton Head Island is beautiful and a nice change of pace from the theme parks. We loved everything about it except the cold temps that hit in mid-December. Still we had a great time.
I promised @figmentfan423 and @ginadee I would tag you, so here you go. Hope you enjoy the pics. I will be happy to answer anyone's questions about the HHI trip if you have any.

I'll start with my favorite photo taken during our visit to the Disney HHI resort:

So what made Disney's Hilton Head Island so special for us was the low country setting and just generally quiet, relaxed feel to the place. We also liked the resort design and layout. It felt intimate and personal, almost like a place you could live and be very happy. Staff was great, especially activities staff. We took several guided nature tours and enjoyed them all. Played bingo one evening and had fun and won lots of candy during bingo and trivia.
We will go back when it is warmer and take advantage of all the area has to offer, but we certainly enjoyed the cooler, quieter time as well. More pics tomorrow.

This is the pool over at the Beach House, about a mile or so from the actual resort. It is a lovely area right on the beach, but the resort itself is not on the beach, something we heard a couple of people being upset about while there. Hey, I think the resort setting on a little island near the marsh is ideal and so lovely. If you have to stay oceanfront for your beach trip, with an ocean view from your room, this is not it. If you can live with a private beach house, and oceanfront pool away from the main resort, don't miss Disney HHI.
