Hilarious Disney Book

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Getting this for Christmas. It's by one of the guys of Mesa Verde Times, which was a small band of ne'er-do-wells who lived out most of our dreams by exploring backstage (and onstage) of Horizons.

If your looking for a place to smoke weed at Disney World, you got some serious problems...

Of course, but this book is very tongue-in-cheek. The stories in it are absolutely hilarious. I was reading it last night and couldn't stop laughing - And I'm only 30 pages in.

The funniest part of this book (of which there are many) is where the author talks about ways to eat cheap. Tells Vegans to take note - Go into Pecos Bills and Cosmic Rays with large plastic bags and fill them up with everything at the "fixin's bar". Also, if you're going to bring ants into a restaurant to get a free meal, always make sure to put them over a dark dessert, otherwise the waitress would have recognized it.

He also makes mention of a certain Disney message board several times (not this one) and how spastic some of the posters are about certain things that get brought up a lot. He does throw a nod to this board and says it is much more laid back, which I agree with 100%.

I've seen the book discussed before, and after seeing this thread again earlier this evening, I went ahead and bought it. For three bucks, I figured I might as well.

You definitely have to have a sense of humor to read it. It's rude and crude several times over. But there are a few decent pieces of info mixed in with all of the ideas that are at best immoral and at worst very, very illegal.

Having authored and edited books and articles, the grammar and flow of the book could have been better, and spelling errors and incorrect references galore (my favorite being "La Cellier"). But those are the things I notice being a writer

Not an endorsement, to be clear, but just thought I would share my opinion of what I thought about the book.

I agree 100%. I would in no way recommend it as a guide book, but rather as a fun piece of reading.

Seriously, don't read it while drinking anything. I did and ended up with water all over my keyboard.

I really think, everyone that is a die-hard fan of WDW should read this book. I've never laughed so hard from reading in my life. It's all just so relatable, and in many scary instances, so true.

Hi, Leonard Kinsey here! CaptainKidd emailed me and suggested I stop by this thread, so here I am!

Thanks a bunch to CaptainKidd and anyone else who purchased the book. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about it or WDW in general.

As Bairstow noted, I also have a bunch of behind-the-scenes and off-limits videos on Youtube, and some "continuing adventures of..." stories on my website that readers of the book might be interested in.

I have to say you guys are getting a lot of Disney press as of late! I was not really up for your book, but now I am looking forward to picking it up. Looks like lots of fun and nice cover!

Thanks, guys! Yeah, Jerm, we have been getting a decent amount of press lately, which has been cool but also has me worried about crackdowns from The Company....

The cover model is Draven Star, who is also in a bunch of the videos on my YouTube channel. She's a huge Disney nerd, too!

I have yet to read this, but plan on picking up a copy soon. Anyone run across any threads about this book over on Disboards? I wonder how the...umm...largely "delicate sensibilities" over there handled it.

Just because you, yourself wouldn't do a lot of the things in the book doesn't mean it's not a fun and enjoyable read (as other posters have pointed out). I mean, I don't plan on ever doing a copious amount of drugs, but I still enjoy Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Nothing wrong with a nice vicarious experience!
