Rumor Higher Speed Rail from MCO to Disney World

I think you're saying "from around the world" implies visitors arriving at MCO. But one could argue that the phrase "part of their vacation" in the same sentence refers to visitors whose plans include multiple destinations, and need transport to WDW from another part of the state.

Again, a Brightline VP told the CFX board that Brightline is not suited to local transportation because they intend to provide hourly service. That would also be inadequate to move the bulk of visitors arriving at MCO.
I'm not saying anything. I'm just putting the bright-line perspective into context. When they were speaking about the Local transportation and not being suited for that, he was talking more specifically about the 528 option vs the 417. Brightline is not interested in being a lo community service. They are very interested in service in Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World Is Not Just an after thought they were just going along with it.

Exactly. Besides... this is still a few years out. brightline and Disney are going to have many discussions behind closed doors about how this is actually going to work.

Well, lets not act like a lot of the talk about intercity/hourly and involving SunRail isn't political Central Florida isn't immune from political pandering/influence.

Brightline has to pay toll diversions. Operating a more frequent shuttle service would impact that agreement and payments. They can’t keep it secret.

He keeps claiming that people are misinterpreting the comments and that Brightline really does want to operate as a shuttle service between Disney and the airport. It can’t just be that Brightline does want more frequent service between Disney and the airport but just does not want to deal with the extra stops along the north route. How much Brightline pays CFX and apparently even some neighbors is going to be based on their frequency of service and how many people they are taking off of the toll roads. More frequent service even on the south route would impact those payments and agreements. Any desire for more frequent service to Walt Disney World is something they have to reveal to get those agreements.

That’s not what he’s saying at all. You’re just taking one thing that was said to an extreme.

I thought brightline was going to have to add a fee to each ticket for the toll surcharge or whatever it’s called.

I’m not. Go right back to when @joelkfla posted the meeting information and said it shows they are not interested in being a shuttle service. His first reply was that this is not true. He has reiterated it and just said the comments about not being local were only in regards to the north line.

They will, you probably won't see it broken out like a phone bill though. The money to pay it has to come from somewhere and they only have one source for that money.
Sometimes the fees have to broken down by law.. like “occupancy tax” at a hotel. Other times it does not. That’s not the point.

My point is, aren’t they paying a fee per passenger?

So when the state says all state tolls are free ( ie Hurricane ) will the price drop for the rider fare on the train? I doubt it. Also taking the 417 toll road from Sanford to WDW is almost 7 dollars ( one way ) I think.

Yes and that fee gets added to every ticket

If the agreement is there is a fee added to every ticket, than the agreement has nothing to do with how many trains operate or how frequently they operate.

The means of calculating the fee has not yet been determined. During the meeting the possibility of having to pay an additional settlement to owners in Hunter’s Creek was also brought up. More frequent trains would be more noise. Even if frequency is a nonissue for those matters, lying to your government agency landlord for a huge chunk of the middle of your route is not a good idea.

If I were going to WDW from Sanford I wouldn't do it on the 417

There is no way that the fee will be based per train, it will be based on the number of passengers and there will be a direct correlation between passenger numbers and fees paid to recoup lost revenue for the tolls.

Also, it can't be pointed out enough, trains aren't any louder then cars on an interstate unless they are honking their horns, which is only required at grade intersections under normal circumstances, and "quiet" zones can be added to areas.

And go through the nightmare of I-4? I knew that Hunters Creek residents would fight it. Lets see what kind of monies that will be paid out to them.
I-4 is the bomb! Nothing like driving 4 abreast on narrowed lanes at 70 mph while the road snakes back and forth!. They are done with the hard part so just have to finish up the downtown. They will always have new projects screwing up the flow but you really can drive it. Just don't do it during the wrong hours. (Still wouldn't do 417 even if I-4 was a parking lot.)

In regards to the I-4 never ending expansion project a number have died in the construction of the huge project. Hopefully safety will be more top of mind of the Brightline project. Why do drunken drivers keep driving the wrong way on I-4.. that's another topic
