It's been a long time coming, but High Speed Internet Access is finally being introduced at WDW Resorts, starting with Coronado Springs. Your room account will be charged $9.95 for 24 contiguous hours for this service. You will need to supply your own laptop and cable, but technical support will be available via your in-room phone.

Courtyard by Marriott on Hotel Plaza Blvd. all ready offers this service. It costs $9.95 for your entire length of stay. The service is provided by www.wayport.net. Also, the cable is provided in the room.

I've used the wayport service at other hotels when I travel for work. It is at least as speedy as my cable modem, if not faster. I think this is a great addition to the resorts.

Every time I've used it at other hotels, the pricing is $9.95 but it ends at 3:00 pm each day, not 24 hours later. If you are going to use it for more than 5 days during a stay, look into the monthly subscription which is around $50.00.

OK. I know people work while at WDW and need to check email
BUT...
I go to WDW for the total immersive experience. I don't read the paper, watch the news, check email, carry a cell phone or worry about the outside world. It'll be there when I get back and no worse off for me not thinking about it. And I'll be better off for getting away and not worrying about all the little things that don't mean anything anyway.

Well I think this is mostly targeted towards the guests that stay at the conference center hotels. The initial rolluts at CS, Y&B, GF, Contemp, and BW make sense due to the large amount of people there on business trips at the hotel convention centers. Other hotels like Poly, AKL, WL, BC and the all stars aren't being outfited with high speed net access in the rooms.

the Beach Club and the villas are also included as well. Just to clear some things up, it isn;t by wayport at disney as the courtyard does. So you cannot "look into" getting a monthly subscription.

Are you sure about that pricing? If so, that's an incredible bargain. I use Wayport all the time when I travel and the pricing has consistently been $9.95 for the period between when you sign up for it and anywhere from noon to around 3pm the following day. It ends up working out to be $9.95 for each day you are there if you use it every night. Also, Wayport's website (in the link you provided in your post) has a pricing explanation which is consistent with this. Is Courtyard an exception? If so, then maybe I'll start staying at Courtyards.

That's too bad. I've been very pleased with the Wayport service every time I've used it. And, I didn't need to provide my own cable. Also, Wayport sometimes provides wireless access in the common areas of the hotel.

Is Disney providing the Internet access themselves, or will they use a service other than Wayport?
