High School Musical pep rally reactions

Themeatically it is "Grease"like. Just a bit more wholesome and designed for the preteen demo. I think the placement is actually smart as they have created another "must see" for this demo for the girls in an area designed mainly for boys (Tland). I think it is smart. :slurp:
Might I ask why the theme of the future that never was would not be appealing to girls?

When I saw that I was wondering the same thing. I was at the 3 show today.

Hehe - now I have to see this show.

The beret, the look on his face, the girl next to him looking like someone else just "brought it" and she lost American Idol.

Hehe.. I need to see it ;)

Ha... so... uhm... yeah.

High School Musical may not be the most amazing piece of cinematic wonder that was ever created.

BUT.

As far as Disney Channel Original Movies go...

It's pretty damn good.

This is coming from someone who owns the DVD and soundtrack AND has it saved on his DVR, so maybe I'm just a tad bit biased...

But if nothing else, at least it introduces a younger crowd into the concept of musical theatre, which is NEVER a bad thing.

Either way... I wanna see this Pep Rally, heh.

*shrug*

Ok - so I hear all this bashing of HSM but try to be nice! My son is the male lead in the show and will be doing half the shows today (the opening) and all the weekend shows (Fri, Sat, Sun). He and the cast members have worked really hard so give them a chance before trashing them! HSM will be a lot of fun for so many kids - let them enjoy it!

Ughh... he's so lucky.

I'm playing Ryan in our community theatre's upcoming production of the stage version.

My boyfriend is playing Troy... because he's good like that I guess. Plus he looks disturbingly like Zac Efron...

I would kill to be in a version at the parks though...

YES - that's him!!! We had so much fun watching the shows this weekend and of course were so proud of him (you know moms!) I thought they did a great job and it was awesome to hear them singing live. He had a ball and signed his first autographs. I know we'll going back again soon!

For those who don't like the show in Tomorrowland, my S said that the new stage will look very futuristic with no HSM signage at all. Then when they go to do the show, they will "transform" it into the Pep Rally with signs, banners, etc. So most of the time, it will hopefully blend in with the Tomorrowland theming.

Tell him that he was great the other day. And his friends were great too.

That's awsome. He really is a nice guy. I was able to talk to him and congradulate him. I wish him the best of luck.

Your son did a great job. what days will he usually be doing the show? I was only able to catch a small part of the show and would love to get a chance to see the whole thing.

This High school musical thing is the worst act ever to throw near the WDW property. I'm not saying it's not a great show for elsewhere... but come on, it doesn't fit at Disney.

Thanks! His cast will be doing the Thursday through Sunday shows for the most part.
I saw it again yesterday. And I got to say that your son was better then the guy who was there yesterday. But I liked the girl who plays the class president or whatever she is. She looks like the one of the girls in the movie.

I agree with those who don't think HSM belongs in Tomorrowland. it's so darn out of place!!! Now had it opened in Disney-MGM Studios on the Streets of America, it would have been so much more well area-themed.

Just a small reaction from a spectator of the French version of the High School Musical Pep Rally since the show has just begun in Disneyland Paris.

It is of course quite different from the movie. But I love it. Very energizing. And it gives a new life to the Studios.

Just sorry because it will perform only in Summer.

A small video to give a glance at the show. But it is much better in live.

The video here
